Elliot walked in to Captain Cragen's office to meet his new partner. He'd barely walked through the door before groaning. "You have got to be kidding me." Standing before him was a petite girl. Five foot seven with auburn hair and deep green eyes. It was set off nicely by her fair skin and red lips.
She stepped forward to shake his hand, giving him a cheeky smile. "Nope. I'm your new partner, Lillian Novak."
Elliot faltered a little. "Wait. Novak. Any relation to Casey Novak?"
"Wow, no wonder you're a detective. You got it right in one." Realizing what she'd just said, she cringed a bit. "Oops, sorry. What I meant to say was yes. I'm her little sister."
"Huh. Seem a bit young to be a detective." Elliot mumbled, slightly downcast as he was not only reminded that he needed a new partner since Liv no longer could but now he had to be reminded about their onetime ADA and friend, Casey Novak.
"Yeah, well, runs in the family." She didn't know what it was, but he just made her feel the need to be defensive about herself and her sister.
Smirking, Elliot couldn't help but poke a bit more. "Regular child prodigies. Though Casey never mentioned a sister."
She looked down and sighed, "we don't talk anymore."
