NEW PERSPECTIVE

If anyone told him before that he would find himself looking for the perfect Christmas tree among the numerous pine trees scattered around the area three days before Christmas Eve, he would have scoffed at the impossibility. If anyone had told him that one day he would be looking for the perfect Christmas tree for a home he shares with someone he has even remotely un-platonic feelings, he would have laughed and washed away the image with a beer or two and fuck with a random someone at the bathroom.

But here he was, watching his boyfriend of more than a year, scrunching his nose as he rejected one tree after another because of reasons beyond his normal range of understanding.

"Too many pine needles. It'll be a nightmare once it starts to dry up."

Normally, he would have scowled as another prospective tree was rejected and he was dragged once again to look at another section of medium-sized trees. But as he looked at the hand clasping his, their fingers entwined, he couldn't help but squeezed it lightly, contentment evident on his face.

Once they finally found the perfect one, and brought it back to their apartment it was placed in the middle of their living room. A few hours later, and numerous unused decorating materials mingled with pine needles littering their floor, with the tree gleaming with the lights that adorn it, Sebastian wondered when his life turned from the wild single-hood he thought he would forever relish to the warm domesticity he now cherish.

Sebastian's long legs ate the distance between him and his boyfriend. His arms circled the smaller man's frame and he rested his chin on his shoulder, marveling at the warmth he was feeling. His boyfriend smiled, placing his own arms above Sebastian's and turned his head lightly to look at his green eyes.

"This is so beautiful," he said.

Sebastian looked at his glass eyes and lost himself into it. "You're beautiful."

He closed the distance between their faces and captured Kurt's lips in slow, sweet kiss.

Their embrace, illuminated by the lights of the Christmas tree, fresh pine scent surrounding their living room… Sebastian wouldn't trade it to anything else in this world.
