If there was one thing she could tell him, it was that she didn't love him like she used to. No. She wasn't that young girl, infatuated. She was elder, much elder. She was smarter than that. Her name, her life, her love was all a tragedy. They indeed had brought Sasuke-kun back home. But back in a coffin. The family had been complete. Her Sasuke-kun now laid buried next to his mother. The gentle hearted woman whose fate it was to marry into the Uchiha clan. And to his left was his elder brother. The one who gave up his life to protect one person.
Sasuke.
Naruto watched her as she walked away from the grave site. Deep inside the Uchiha territories. Hinata watched with sorrowful eyes as the young woman attempted to keep herself composed for the sake of the others. She wouldn't cry. No. She was much stronger than that. A ninja must never show emotion.
Never Again.
She still felt his blood on her hands. She had killed him. When he said that Konoha was shit, it was her blood that boiled. When he said that we were all his enemy, she punched him. She told him that he was mistaken. Konoha was the place that gave a place to belong. That gave him a brother like Naruto. A father like Kakashi. Hell, a love like Sakura.
And he looked at her.
Tears flowed down her cheeks. She had promised herself she would never cry but no, the circumstances were different. She was going to cry because hell, all girls had the right to cry. Even big girls. Sasuke never saw something more ethereal in his life. Her immaculate beauty. The way the wind blew through her tresses.
He fell.
It was like an epiphany. He stared at her with lost eyes and he realized everything. He was the evil one. He was the one who brought hurt. No. It wasn't him. It was his name. He was cursed the minute he was born to the Uchiha elder. He was a monster. Worse than scum.
Those who betray their friends are worse than scum.
And there he was staring at her. Rain fell with the same frequency of her tears. Knowing what he knew best, he activated the sharingan. And attempted to kill the one he could have loved.
If she succeeded in killing him…
She really did love him.
And with a kunai to the heart she ended his torture. And the blood from his mouth flew heavy. And he did what he knew best.
"Arigatou"
And he left her again. In pain and in misery. He left her. To join his cursed family. And their he waited with open arms for the one he loved. The pink haired beauty. The jade eyed princess. The woman he would have taken for his own.
