If it's cold outside and the bed is warm, you don't leave.
It's a universal fact, but as the a cold breeze blew in from the open window beside her bed Lucy awoken with a groan.
Cracking an eye open, all Lucy could see was blue. It took her a moment to realize what she was seeing was Happy's back. Her eyes narrowed slightly. If he was here than there was little doubt that her fire breathing team mate was close by.
Wanting to move as little as possible she turned her head slightly to the right. Pink hair and a scaley looking scarf confirmed her suspicions. How her teammates snuck into her house every night without waking her was still a mystery, but it did explain the open window.
Lucy was about to kick the dragon slayer out of the bed before a soft, sleepy voice interrupted her. "Lushi~" turning back she saw Happy had rolled over facing her, she smiled softly as she looked at his sleeping face. ""Lushi~ I miss you." he said and Lucy giggled slightly.
As annoying as the blue haired Exceed could be at times, Lucy loved him just the same. She ran her fingers through the fur on his head causing him to smile in his sleep. Picking him up gently so as not to wake him she turned to the side and placed him back on the bed so that he could lie between her and Natsu.
She smiled as she looked at her two idiotic teammates. She had missed them. She had gotten so use to their presence that even after moving to Crocus there were times where she would half expect them to be there when she woke up, sleeping with her or going through her kitchen trying to find something for breakfast, only to find herself disappointed when all she awoke to was an empty apartment.
Waking up like this just felt…right. Though she didn't dare admit this out loud. Heavens know how they would tease her for it when they found out. Their heads were big enough as they were, she didn't want to make them any bigger.
""Lucy?" Hearing the voice Lucy was brought out of her thoughts as she looked at Natsu who was looking at her through a half lidded eye. ""Why are you awake? Did you have a nightmare or somethin'?" he asked huskily, sleep clinging to his words. Happy also woke up from his sleep and looked at her with what she thought was worry, but she couldn't tell for sure with the way his eyes kept closing, as if he was fighting to stay awake.
Lucy shook her head ""No it's nothing like that." she replied slowly getting up "We should get up, the guild isn't going to rebuild itself you know." She was about to sit up when a hand grabbed her wrist. Raising a brow she looked at Natsu in confusion.
A small shriek escaped her lips as Natsu pulled her back down, his grip got lighter but he didn't release her hand. "Natsu," she began to protest before he let go of her wrist and went down to the small of her back bringing her slightly closer. "Sleep now. Guild later." he stated firmly as he closed his eyes, snoring only a moment later. "Aye." Happy agreed moving towards Lucy and leaning against her chest like a pillow.
Lucy smiled at the motions before snuggling back into her pillow an arm around Happy.
'Oh well, I didn't want to get up anyway' was all she thought before sleep consumed her.
That was until a few hours later when Happy bit her arm in his sleep thinking it was fish. Erza questioned the bumps on Natsu and Happy's head and why Lucy seemed to be in a grumpy mood.
