"What are you reading, Lily?" Remus Lupin asked his "brother's" girlfriend. The vivacious red-head looked up with a wry smile.
"Hullo, Moony. Actually, I'm reading horoscopes," she said, letting out a little giggle at her silliness. Remus made a face, frowning.
"Ah. I see. I'll just be going, then," he murmured, about to leave. He hated reading horoscopes. Not only did it remind him of his dead little brother, but also of the beast inside him. Sirius Black, his boyfriend, and James Potter, Lily Evan's boyfriend, plopped down on either side of him. Peter Pettigrew sat at their feet.
"What's going on?" he squeaked. Remus scowled and tried to avoid Sirius' arm.
"Horoscopes. I'm leaving," he grumbled, jumping up. Sirius yanked him back down and encircled him in his arms.
"Not so fast, love," he smirked. But behind the humor was a trace of worry in his eyes.
"What are whore-oh-scopes. Do they find the closest..err…" James Potter trailed off at Lily's flashing green eyes.
"No, they do not, James Potter. Honestly. They're your star sign. I'm an Aries," she declared. Sirius let out a barking laugh.
"I already have my star sign, Lily-flower." Peter rolled his eyes.
"No, Sirius. Yours is…Capricorn, right?" Lily nodded and smiled widely at him.
"Yep! You are…practical, ambitious, disciplined, patient, careful, humorous, reserved, pessimistic, grudging, independent, confident, strong-willed, calm, unemotional, responsible, cautious, self-sacrificing for your loved ones. Your animal is the goat, and your gem is black onyx," Lily listed, her eyes scanning the paper. Everyone paused, then burst into a round of hysterics. Some of that matched Sirius perfectly: ambitious, humorous, grudging, independent, confident, strong-willed and the gem. But the rest? Even Remus had to howl with laughter.
"Padfoot, patient?" James choked out.
"Responsible?" Lily managed.
"Calm?" Peter asked disbelievingly.
"Pessimistic?" Remus repeated. Sirius was the most optimistic person he knew.
"Goat?" the one in question wailed.
Remus had to admit, this was quite interesting. He snuggled closer to Sirius, relaxing into the embrace. Sirius smiled down at his lover. Okay, if it made him happy, then it wasn't that bad, he decided. Suddenly he smiled wickedly.
"What's Prongs?"
