Staring out the window at the heavy rain, Takasugi cursed at himself as he tossed a short look behind him at the almost lifeless body. He had been a fool to believe that his family would leave his lover alone... lover... It was still such a strange word for him to use. But as he watched the machine bib and the chest slowly rise and fall, he knew... Knew that he would do whatever it took to keep his lover safe.
Takasugi had been nothing but manipulative and extremely selfish, never thinking about others then himself. Well beside Gintoki but that was beside the point. His lover had at first been skeptical of him, but the almost angelic nature and willingness to help and be a friend... That was points Takasugi simply didn't understand.
How could a person with such a nature want to be with him? especially when said person knew who he was and what family he had. A heavy sigh left him as he stared out over the city. Of course Takasugi had failed to take into account the stubborn, headstrong and temperamental personality. Which of course didn't help on what happened with his family.
A sudden noise from the bed got him to move over to it, and as he sat down on the chair a small smile graced Takasugi's lips as he saw two sleepy eyes look up at him.
One word left him in pure relief as the other had finally woken up
"Taiga"
