A/N: Okay, this is my first Alex Rider fic EVER so I hope I did well. :D Please review!!
Disclaimer: Don't own Alex Rider… not Anthony Horowitz… etc. :P
He had never wanted to do it. Yet, he had been forced to do things that a normal fourteen year old would never even be able to imagine. Not in their most vivid nightmares. In some ways it sickened him, weakened him, but in others it strengthened him, made him seem more senior than a teenager.
You could see it in his eyes. Those hard chocolate eyes. The way they pierced right through you, as if he were looking into the very depths of your soul, seeking out what purpose you would play in his life. He had been tricked too many times, pushed into situations that had made him almost meet his death.
That is why he stood there. For the first time since he learned his uncle had died, he felt freer. His arms were held out horizontally, making him look as if he was about to prepare for a dive. The wind whipped harshly at his face, also sending his light hair into a flurry of whipping strands.
He didn't care. He was going to be completely free.
His heart jumped as he heard sirens. Police sirens. They would be upon him soon. Bystanders stared in shock, completely vacant of all movement. They were too perplexed with what he was doing.
The wind thrashed at him as he shuffled closer to the edge. The sound of screeching tyres on bitumen met his ears, but he did not flinch. He was expecting this. Policemen came rushing at him from cars, they were yelling things at him.
He payed no mind. They couldn't change his decision. All the things that weighed him down, they would soon be gone…
"Come on boy, step away from the edge," A policeman tried to coax him away from the edge, away from freedom. He didn't listen. He took a deep breath, filling his lungs with air, and jumped.
Finally, he was free.
A/N: Depressing, suicidal, yes. I know. Please review. Let me know what you thought, think… whichever. :P Thankyou!!
