Welp, this is the first story I've written in a while. It's still a work in progress so I don't know how long it'll be in between chapters but I wanted to know what you guys thought about the idea. I'm open to some suggestions and I love reading reviews so write away!
And to be clear, this is going to be a Makorra story so I hope you enjoy.
P.S. Forgive any grammar errors and punctuation mistakes. I try my best but my eyesight hasn't been the best lately and I don't have Microsoft Word anymore so it's hard for me to catch everything.
Secrets Collide
A Not So Short Story About Finding True Love
Prologue
Once upon a time, I thought everything between us was perfect. Then everything came crashing down In one moment.
"I can't do this anymore." She said to me one day. At the time, the only thing I could register was shock, and, in the back of my mind, utter betrayal. In the two years we've been together, not once did i think there was something wrong between us. I never saw this coming. I feel like I've been completely blindsided.
"I know this may come as a shock,"
'Completely.' My mind echoed.
"But you must have notice the rift building between us?"
'No...'
"And then I started hanging out with this guy and-"
"Wait what?" I said aloud now. For a second she looked startled at my outburst, but picked up where she left off.
"He made me feel, I don't know... special, I guess.
"You've been cheating on me?" I asked feeling numb. She stayed quiet, looking down at the floor. "Asami?" I asked quietly, waiting for her to give me an answer. "Asami!" I yell out when she doesn't respond. She flinched at my anger before nodding her head in response. "How long?"
"It started six months..." She trailed off, looking desperate to drop the question.
"What? Six months ago?" She shakes her head, her black hair falling over her face and my heart sinks further as I realize the answer.
"Six months... after we started going out." I stared at her, baffled. The whole time this was going on, and I never suspected a thing. She looks up at me, tears running down her face. Her green eyes search mine, looking for some sort of forgiveness I assume, At one time, I found those eyes to be beautiful. Now they show nothing but betrayal. "I never meant to lead you on. I just didn't want to hurt you..." I honestly couldn't believe what I was hearing. And what's more, she's crying as if she's the one getting her heart ripped out. I didn't know what to say, as if there was anything that could be said.
"Are we done here?" I ask, desperately trying to keep my anger in control. She looks at me confused as if she expected a different response from me. She reaches out to touch my arm. I automatically step away from her.
"Mako, you have to believe me. I never meant to hurt you."
"Well you really failed at that." I hear my voice crack and mentally curse myself as I walk away from her and get out of the house. I run into Tahno, blocking my way and let out a bitter laugh. "My girlfriend and my best friend. Guess I should have seen this coming huh?"
"I'm sorry." he says quietly, looking at everything but me. Surprisingly, the usual arrogant smirk that painted his face was replaced with conscience-stricken guilt. Amazingly, it did nothing to make me feel better.
"Have fun with her." Is all I say before walking to my car and driving away, leaving both of them behind me.
Tell me what you think guys. As I've always said, don't forget to Review. (Because I really do love reading them!)
