Strolling down the endless halls of the palace of Edolas, Pantherlily double-checked the prosperity of the castle before even thinking of retiring for the night. Everything was well until he heard the creak of one of the wooden doors opening. A smirk crossed the Exceed's face. He knew exactly who that was. He quietly walked down the hall and to the right glancing down the hall to the young Prince's chambers. Sure enough, young Prince Jellal was out of his room peeking out of the giant window. He was so small he had to drag out a chest to be able to see over the window pane. Pantherlily chuckled to himself and waded over to the prince, "My Prince," he started and Jellal whirled around with a both shocked and frightened expression. As soon as he realized it was the Exceed his body relaxed and a smile crossed his features. "Oh, it's only you, Lily. You scared me!" The prince stated turning his attention back to the window. The abnormally large cat strode forward to the boy and stood about a foot away from him. "My Prince, you must rest, you have-"

"Whoa! Look Lily!" Jellal dragged the cat up to the window and pointed his small index finger out to the starry night sky. "Loook! A shooting star!" Watching the boy with that amazed look in his eyes and his smile wider than anyone in this world could make it, Pantherlily leaned on the windowsill and stared out at the sky. The couple watched the stars fall and race across the sky for what seemed like hours and soon Jellal's eyes started to droop. The black cat fixed his attention on the boy who was attempting to fight back sleep by vigorously rubbing his eyes. Smiling, he scoped the prince up in his right arm and picked up the chest with his left. "Wait...! Lily- I wasn't done looking...!" He protested wiggling around to get free. The cat shook his head and nudged open the door with his foot setting the chest down in its original place in front of Jellal's massive full sized bed. "You are plenty done," he said lying the wiggling boy in the bed and laying the covers over him. Jellal pouted and gave Pantherlily the best puppy eyes he could manage at this point of exhaustion. "You're so-" he was cut off with a yawn, "-mean...Lily..." he smiled and rested his paw over his eyes closing them. "Go to sleep now, my prince," Lily felt him nod and removed his paw standing up and turning but was stopped in mid-turn. "No-wait Lily...please don't leave..." The young boy pleaded. How could he say no to that? "As you wish, my prince." He knelt down next to the prince and took the small one's hand into his giant paw. Jellal sleepily smiled and draped a small blanket over Pantherlily's shoulders lying back down on his back slipping his hand back into the cat's grasp. "Thank you, Pantherlily."
