I've written a nice, light, fun moment for Gemma and Kartik. I wrote it a while ago, I'm just uploading it now.
Gemma and Kartik are baking cookies.
'Kartik!' Gemma squealed as he shook the spoon dripping with melted chocolate towards her. Brown spots landed on her cheeks and dress and she laughed as Kartik wiped his forehead, leaving a large brown streak stretched across his forehead.
'I got it on me, didn't I?' Kartik asked, trying to wipe it off and doing more damage.
Gemma laughed harder and attempted to stir the remaining cookie mixture in the bowl. She giggled slightly and turned to Kartik. 'I think we did it wrong,' she said, holding up the nearly-solid mixture and waving it under his nose.
'No, no,' Kartik poured some water in a cup and threw the contents on top of the mixture. The mixture didn't absorb it, as it was supposed to. Instead, the water ran off the hard surface of the dough and pooled around it in the bowl. Kartik smiled a little and nodded. 'Yes. We did.'
Both of them stared into the bowl. Gemma's hair was pulled back tightly, but wisps had escaped and were dangling around her face. She had flour on her nose and cheeks, and her face was speckled with dots of chocolate. Kartik had a dark streak across his forehead and his chin was white with flour.
'Should we start again?'
'Never know what results this might produce,' Kartik said jubilantly, plunking the dough onto the oven shelf. It landed with a loud thud which reduced Gemma to fit of laughter.
'I don't think it's supposed to make that noise.'
'We may have just invented a whole new type of cookie,' Kartik said.
'It'll take a while to bake, we should clean up a bit,' Gemma said, reaching for the kitchen towels.
'I can think of something a lot more fun to do while we wait,' Kartik said, raising his eyebrows suggestively.
Gemma swatted at him with the towel.
'We could even use the left over chocolate, if you like,' Kartik continued, elevating one eyebrow.
'But we have no more cookie dough,' Gemma said innocently.
I don't mean to use it with more cookie dough,' Kartik laughed alluringly.
Gemma smiled coyly. 'I'll get the marshmallows and ice cream,' she said, 'You make sure the chocolate isn't hot enough to burn!'
16 minutes later
'That,' Kartik gasped, 'was a very creative use of chocolate.'
Just something that popped into my head. Not fantastic, but it was fun!
BTW-I have gotten some comments about spelling on previous fics but I spell in UK English, which means I have 'u's where you don't and 's's where you have 'z's.
Please review.
