hey girl you know you drive me crazy,
one look puts the rhythm in my hand,
still I'll never understand why you hang around,
I see what's going down.
cover up with makeup in the mirror,
tell yourself it's never gonna happen again,
you cry alone and swears he loves you.
Rory woke up, immediately getting ready for her lunch with Jess, that of course, Logan didn't know about. He thought she was going out to work on a story for the paper. Rory knew that if she had told him, she'd get hurt worse than she already was. She picked out her clothes carefully, picking out outfits that covered her bruises and scars.
She headed over to the diner, where she met Jess there. Jess still looked the same, and he still had those same feelings for Rory as he did when they were teens. As they talked and caught up, Rory rolled her sleeves up, getting ready to eat the soup she ordered. She heard Jess gasp a little, seeing a baseball-sized bruise on her arm.
"Rory..." he said, too surprised for words, "What happened?"
"Oh, n-nothing," she said, pulling down her sleeve again and laughing nervously, "I just... ran into a desk at the paper. Clumsy me."
do you feel like a man
when you push her around
do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?
well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's gotta end,
as your lies crumble down, a new life she has found
While Rory was at school, Jess went up to hers and Logan's apartment, hoping to talk to him about what he had seen at the diner. Logan answered the door and reluctantly let Jess in.
"What the hell do you want?" Logan asked, slamming the door behind him.
"What's going on with Rory? When I saw her when me and her went out for lunch, she had a huge bruise on her arm. Are you doing something to her, Logan?"
"Hell no! Now get out of my apartment before I call the cops."
Once Rory got home from her classes, she set down her books and walked over to Logan, about to give him a quick kiss before she saw the look on his face. She automatically felt her 'protective shield' go up, she knew what had happened. And Logan, not surprisingly, was noticeably drunk, smelling his breath.
"You didn't tell me you had lunch with Jess," he said, anger filling his chest as he grabbed her arm tightly, not going to let go.
"It was unexpected... I just saw him there, I swear!" Rory exclaimed, panic filling her voice. Her eyes stung with tears, knowing the fate she was about to face.
"It didn't seem like it. Why do you lie to me, baby? I love yo-" he said, his words slurring as he tried to kiss her. She pushed away from him, mumbling about how out of his mind he was. He heard what she said, and he punched her. She slowly fell to the ground, as if in slow motion. She covered up her face as she slid to the ground.
face down in the dark
she says 'this doesn't hurt'
she said 'I've had enough!'
one day she will tell you she's had enough,
it's coming round again.
The next morning, Rory's body was sore with new bruises. She knew if she let him do any more, she could easily lose her life. Logan was out with his friends, so Rory packed her stuff, and left him a note before leaving him for good.
"I've had enough, baby. You won't push me around anymore. I can do better than you."
Rory showed up at Jess' doorstep, her face filled not only with pride, but also sorrow.
"Can I stay here for a while?"
Jess nodded, knowing exactly what had happened, "Come in, friend."
