The Child of Heaven

Do you remember telling me you found the sweetest thing of all
You said one day this was worth dying for
So be thankful you knew her at all
But it's no more

It all happened on one sunny Sunday.

The day when their lives changed.

They both left to the hospital being nervous about the up-coming event. On the way they called their soon-to-be aunts, uncles and grandparents, who arrived in record time.

The rest of the day went by waiting.

That's what they would've preferred to do at the end of the day.

Nobody of them had been preparing for the future.

Nobody of them would never forget the look on Seth's face, when he came out from the delivery room.

They all stared in shock, when Seth pulled his hands in front of his face and slid to the ground, leaning against the wall.

Ryan approached Seth carefully and kneeled in front of him. They all looked how desperately Seth wrapped his arms around Ryan.

The brothers were like that for awhile, Ryan whispering something into Seth's ear.

Finally Seth gathered himself and stood up, supported by Ryan.

He faced Sandy and Kirsten, who hugged their son for what felt like eternity.

Summer didn't speak for four days. She just stared into emptiness without a blink. Seth couldn't blame her. He himself would've wanted to just go under covers and stay there for the rest of his life. But everybody told him to stay strong. And that´s what he did.

Seth spend all that time in the hospital, where he spoke to therapeutists about Summer and the pain of loss. Everyone told him to support his wife and handle things together.

That's why he sat by Summer's bed and took her hand. To his surprise Summer looked at their hands and then at his face.

Summer stared at him, eyes glistening from tears and she spoke right from her heart.

''She's in heaven now.''

Then they cried together for hours.

Summer's depression went on for months.

Seth was listening at the silence in the house with fear. The Hell could break out loose at any minute and destroy everything.

And that's what happened.

Summer started to drink and got strong melt downs. She stopped eating and taking care of herself.

Finally she was taken to hospital. The doctor also ordered her into rehab, so Seth had to spend months alone in the big house.

At some point something changed and Summer came back full of life.

Seth couldn't be nothing but thankful.

And then the real miracle happened.

And you probably don't want to hear tomorrow's another day
Well I promise you you'll see the sun again
And you're asking me why pain's the only way to happiness
And I promise you you'll see the sun again

Seth held a baby in his arms, who looked perfect. He didn't think just outside matter, but thought much deeply than that.

This child was alive.

Maybe they would return back to normal, maybe just because of the baby.

When the time would be right.

But they would never forget their first born.

Seth looked at his wife and knew she thought about the same thing.

This girl was the child of Heaven.

A gift from God.

Come on take my hand
You can wear anything as long as it's not black
Please don't mourn forever
She's not coming back
