Facing Reality

Prologue
The first time I won the National Equestrian Champions, I was elated, really. But before I even won, my heart was into pieces. My parents actually let those awful people shoot my horse. He was the best friend I've ever had, besides Jennifer, I guess. I couldn't believe my ears when they first told me. I was devastated, and went back to sleep for a while, and once I woke up, I wouldn't speak to no one. Not even my boyfriend. Pegasus was gone, and he was only what, 6 years old? God. But my boyfriend and Jennifer bought me a new horse, Midnight.
I was only 15 back
then and one of the youngest riders ever in the Champions, amazing
much? I'm about to turn 16 years old in upcoming October, which is
about five-ish months away. I'm not really focusing on jumping
anymore; I'm focusing on my schoolwork. I still jump and all, but
I do have to work on my schoolwork. I have about 3 years left of
school before I head off to college. I still work with horses,
because my father owns a whole stable full of it, and half of them
are from the boarders. Also, I still work with my boyfriend, Matt
Ballinger from Dream Street. He's been traveling with the other
guys ever since I've won the champs, and they're currently
working on new songs.
The only time I really get a chance to talk
with him is when he emails me. Other than that, he calls me
sometimes. When I say sometimes, I mean sometimes. I
don't really email him back because I know he'll take a long time
to email me back; he has a lot of rehearsals, practice, singings and
what not. I haven't also been in school much because I've broke
my leg after Pegasus rolled onto it, and I've been working on my
jumping for the champs.
So. Story of my life.
Chapter 1
Life was quiet, really. Life wasn't 'exciting-you-might-die-in-a-few-hours' or something. It used to be so… fun. Competing against other Horse Riders from across the world seems to have come to an end, finally. I won the Championships, and there's nothing more to it, really. It's still summer, though, but I do have a ton of paperwork to do… and finish before next year.
Typing rapidly on my new laptop that was bought not long ago, I was typing an email to my best friend, Jennifer. Jennifer's been missing in action lately, so I don't know what the hell exactly is going on with HER. I mean, there is a fifty-fifty change that she will answer, or she will not. If she does not, I will figure out once school starts or I can just ride my bike over there.
Mind you, she dates Chris Trousdale, another member from Dream Street. Basically, I'm not the only one who is famous for dating a Dream Streeter. Since we're on that topic of Dream Street, Matt hasn't been emailing me like before. Something is up. Whether I'm going to find out or not, things will be really really bad. Especially for him.
Finishing my letter to Jennifer, I closed my laptop, and I left my room. The house is so lonely, because my parents are working all the time now. Even though I've won like about a million or so dollars, they still are working. I whistled, and Mickey, my German shepherd dog came running. He's my best friend, really. Besides the fact he is a dog, he's my best friend who I can talk with.
Trudging down the stairway, I was wondering… What the hell is up with Jennifer lately? She doesn't call me anymore. We don't even see each other in the summer period. We don't hang; we don't make plans or anything! It's plain squat now.
