First off, to Wolvenfire86: It definitely would have turned out better if you wrote it, but, I took your advice, and here it is.
The group was sitting around a dim fire, eating lunch and joking around, and just having fun in general as the sun loomed in the overhead sky.
"So I enter Sokka's tent," Zuko states, pausing to take a sip from his cup of tea, "And he's lying there, in his tunic and shorts and a rose in his mouth, and then he turns to me and says, in this funny voice, 'Well, hello,' but when he sees me, he chokes before swallowing the rose completely and continuing, 'Zuko! Of course! Why would I be expecting anyone different,'" Sokka blushed slightly at the memory, "Then after he had given me the advice, he forced me out, and before I was even five feet away, he called for Suki." Everyone laughed as the couple of non-benders blushed.
"Oh! I have one!" Sokka exclaimed, "It's about Aang!" He took a bite out of his meat, then continued, "This one time, we were looking for a fire bending teacher, so we went to this festival." He stood and walked over to Aang, "We needed disguises, so Katara and I just put on some cloaks," He sat down by the airbender, "But Aang didn't have one, so he pulled his robe up over his head like a hood," He demonstrated on the tattooed youth, "And he looked like this until we got ourselves some masks." Everyone laughed at the goofy outfit.
Aang then yawned before getting up and stretching, "Well, this has been fun, but I guess I should be going." Everyone looked at him before simultaneously yelling.
"What? Why?" Then Toph, who was sitting next to Aang before Sokka sat down between them, punched Sokka. "Way to go, Snoozles, upsetting him like that."
"Sorry, Aang, it was just a joke." The teenage swordsman replied as he rubbed his arm.
"Yeah, Aang, you don't need to leave." Katara said, while getting up and putting a hand on Aang's shoulder.
"Yes, I do," Aang answered as his face donned a slightly confused look.
"Why?" Zuko asked, "We were just having fun."
"I know, I want to continue, but-" Aang started before being cut off by Toph.
"So don't leave. If you want to stay, you can." Said the world's greatest earthbender, Toph, to Aang.
"Look, if I stay then I won't be able to-" The avatar started before once again being cut off.
"Don't leave us!" Katara shouted.
"Okay!" Aang said, "But if I don't then who will?"
"What do you mean?" Sokka asked the boy.
"Someone has to go, and soon." The youngest boy replied.
"Why does one of us have to leave?" Toph asked.
"Yeah," Suki continued, "Why can't we all stay?"
"Because Sokka-" Aang once again, was cut off.
"SOKKA! What did you do?" Said water tribe warrior's sister asked angrily.
"I don't know, but I'm sorry!" Boomerang Guy answered as he cowered slightly.
"Well, I guess I'll go-" Toph started, but Aang cut her off.
"What are you saying? You can't go!" The monk said, before adding, "Look, I'll-"
"Wait, why can't Toph go, but you can?" Katara added as she let Suki scold Sokka for a bit.
"Because, she can't read," Aang answered, as if were the most obvious thing in the world.
"What does that have to do with it?" Toph asked.
"Why does anyone have to leave? Why can't we all stay as friends?" Sokka asked, gaining nods from the others.
"GUYS!" Aang yelled, "Look! Sokka ate the rest of our food, so I need to go get more, Toph can't read the list, but anyone else can go! What, did you think I was leaving the team or something? Geez, chill, guys…" Then the monk walked off.
Well, did you like it? Did I catch you off guard? Were you surprised with the ending? Any advice on how I can improve this?
