Something I was inspired to write after listening to the first ten seconds of Dream, the opening theme to X. It's fun to speculate about what Mukuro's past lives were, especially if they led to him gaining the Sixths Paths of Hell. Although this is a very brief look into it, I'm tempted to continue developing this plot bunny and writing something more.

Comments and critiques are most welcome and appreciated.

He was cornered, boxed in between a tall wall and an army of a hundred men.

The general pointed his sword at him. "We've finally caught you, Xiao Wei. For the murder of over 200 hundred men and possibly more, you will be arrested and executed at the capital."

At the heavy accusation, Xiao Wei merely laughed. "Kufufufufu. Try as you might, I won't go easily." He took a step forward, challenging the army that stood before him. Many of the frontline soldiers took a step back. Even the general's horse appeared uncomfortable near the tall man with the long hair.

The general did his best to calm his soldiers. "Stand your ground, men! He is only one man!"

The criminal laughed again. "Kufufufu. One man am I, but there will never be enough to hold me back. Not even Death himself can stop me." He swung his hair back to reveal the eye it had been concealing, glowing red with the character for number one in the middle almost as if a pupil.

The horse completely reared back, terrified by the monster standing before her, throwing the general off and trampling him to death. Many of the men panicked at the horse's fear and broke apart but the higher officers took control and led the charge.

"KILL HIM!"

Xiao Wei grinned and set the tip of his weapon, a well weathered trident, gently on the ground. As soon as the army was well within distance, he rapped the weapon against the ground.

The earth shook and broke apart, sending many soldiers to what they thought was their doom. For those who were lucky enough to survive, they met death at the hands of the infamous murderer. Many tried to fight him but none succeeded, either meeting their death at the illusion or at his fighting skills.

The mighty Xiao Wei was indeed a force to be feared.

By the time a reinforcement army had arrived, the last of the army was falling to their knees. Ten scores of archers lined the area and raised their bows high, releasing enough arrows to fill the sky. They rained down on the battle impaling living and dead alike, including the one that they were after.

His parting words would linger in nightmares for centuries to come.

"Kufufufufufufufufu."

Mukuro stirred within his chamber.

The Vindicare who were guarding watched with interest. It wasn't rare for him move from time to time but today was different.

It almost looked like he was laughing.
