Guess what? Today's my 21st birthday! It's a very special day because it was the 21st that I was born, too! Plus, every birthday of mine Hiccup has always planned something surprising or romantic. 3 And, like every other Hairy Hooligan, the whole village would celebrate my Golden birthday!
"Hi Hiccup! Any 'plans' for today?" I said as I went up to Hiccup, prepared for whatever gift he had today.
"Yeah… Let's see, I'm going to fly with Toothless, explore Itchy Armpit, go to Breakneck Bog, then do some work with Gobber in his shop. A lazy day today I'd say."
"Do you think there'll be a celebration tonight?" I tested.
Hiccup frowned. "I wish," he said, and then walked away.
My excitement disappeared. How could Hiccup have forgotten my birthday? For the past 6 years that we have been dating, Hiccup has NEVER forgotten my birthday!
Still, I wouldn't let this ruin my birthday! I went to y mom and dad's cottage- and they greeted me with hugs.
"Astrid! Happy Golden Birthday! It's been a long time since you've visited us!" they said as they hugged me.
"Yeah, it's great seeing you, too."
"We have some gifts for you!" Mom exclaimed.
I was really excited about what they got me! A new saddle for Stormfly, a new battle axe, charcoal, maps, a compass, and a LEATHER jacket to hold it all!
"Thank you so much! This will all be so helpful!" I cried with joy.
"We knew you'd like them!" Dad grinned.
I went to Stormfly and put on the new saddle. It made it just as easy to steer, and was MUCH more comfortable. Then I got on, put the maps, charcoal pencils, and compass into the jacket, and rode off.
After a while, I came to Itchy Armpit. I could see Hiccup and Toothless on the edge of a cliff, so I went to the other side of the island. There, I found a beautiful meadow and a waterfall. Laughing, I ran into the meadow, and my childish features kinda kicked in. I rolled through the golden grass, and looked up at the blue sky and fluffy clouds. But then I came to my senses.
"Stormfly, this is amazing!" I shouted.
I went to the water fall and drank from it. Then I sat by the stream and... Stormfly pushed me in.
"Astrid!"
My eyes opened. Crud, I must've fallen asleep. The sun was beginning to set. Gee thanks, Odin
"Astrid!" Hiccup said again.
"What? What do you want?" I snapped. I didn't want to be that rude, but heck! He forgot my GOLDEN birthday!
"Um, we should go to Berk. I heard there really IS a celebration tonight! Isn't that exciting?"
"Yeah. Sure, whatever," I said coldly, getting onto Stormfly and riding off.
So, there was celebration, and gifts, and dancing for the next five hours to come. Finally, at the end, Hiccup asked me to come with him.
"Um, Astrid? Can I say something? In private?"
"ok.." I scowled.
"What do you want?" I asked angrily when we had gone behind the hall.
"First of all, why are you mad at me?" Hiccup asked.
"Because you forgot my birthday!" I shouted.
"I didn't forget!" Hiccup exclaimed.
"Really? You had me convinced!" I laughed slightly, feeling my cheeks grow red.
"I intended to do that."
"OK…."
"Well, here's my gift…"
Long story short, I'm going to be married in 4 months. Bye!
Ok I know it's really cheesy but I had a document and nowhere for it to go. Anyways thanks for reading! hOwever I am quite proud of it!
