It was a few years down the road after the plane crash and all the drama that is Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital that Callie showed up at Arizona's office in Peds.
"Hey are you busy?"
Arizona looked up from typing "Hey, and to what do I owe this visit?"
"I was just let go."
"Shut the door Calliope and come sit down."
Callie shuts the door and sits on the edge of her desk.
Arizona rubs her thigh and knee "Let go, what do you mean let go, like fired let go?"
Callie just nods
"What happened?"
"Jackson Avery called me to a conference room and we talked for a while and he said there is no more money in this hospital to keep Ortho open any longer."
"Oh honey I'm so sorry."
Callie just shrugs "That's it I guess, I'll no longer be a surgeon here or even anymore."
"Hey We'll get through it, We'll figure out what you will do next."
"I think I just want some time off to figure it out, I still have some things of Marks to go through and get figured out so i can cross that off my list."
"Okay well we'll discuss this and that tonight over dinner and a bottle of wine and put Sofia down early and talk about it some more if that's what you want or need."
"You're good at that."
"We'll I'm still trying to move forward and go back to being a wife first too."
Callie smiles "Well I guess I will go and pack up my stuff and say goodbye to my department and I'll just see you at home okay?"
"Okay honey, and hey don't worry about Sofia, I can pick her up after I get off work."
"No you know what I think I will just pick her up from daycare early and take her home and give her some lunch and spend some time with her or something."
"Okay whatever you need you to do honey."
"Thank you."
"I love you."
"Love you too."
They kiss and Callie leaves Arizona's office pulling off her white coat and goes back to her office packing it up gettinghelp to get all her boxes to her car from one of her Ortho nurses and a few of the interns and then picks up Sofia from daycare and takes her home.
