Dark Fairytales
By SMYGO4EVA
From when she was an infant, she believed that a glorious prince would come for the ever waiting princess to awaken from her slumber, that cupid's arrow would strike a heart and find true happiness. Of course, that was just fantasy; problems would never be solved with love, just like that. It was nothing more than a figment of pure imagination created by mortality. She was a child back then, a stupid foolish child. A stupid little kid who was protected from the dark truth of humankind's own flaws, protected by a mother or father's lies.
Almost as an afterthought, she knew now that there was more to life than fairy godmothers or sorceresses in her world. There were friendships, broken hearts, blood splattering the concrete, and death beyond comprehension. Why, for a small child like her, should she know all of this now? Should she really know of Elysian and Heaven's false existence? Why has the Light denied her? Why?!
She sat from her bed, her violet-colored orbs shimmering in indifference. The events occurring in the forsaken world were of reality, not of imagination. Atlantis was of imagination, Elysian and Heaven ceased to be, and Hell was the only home of darkness, Earth forever lost. The wars, hatred and uncontainable lust only proved it. The reality was made up of dark fairytales.
