How much longer,

Before you bond yourselves together,

And you're lost to me forever?

I remember promises,

made on a rainy summer night,

You vowed I would be your only love, , but she swooped down on you from above.

I sit here waiting for you.
You look so nervous,

your hands are clammy,

I wonder if you were ever mine,

or whether I was just pulled along on a line.

I sit here waiting for you.
And sit I will,

Forever more,

I'll always be waiting for you,

at least my love was always true.

I could do it now,

announced my love to you,

Or would you do it to me?
