The Camel Lot
A\N: This is complete crack! it's about Camelot being a Camel Lot (as in a lot of land filled with camels). I was really close to not posting this but someone might enjoy this so it's here. This does have a possibility of continuation if enough people want it.
A long time ago there lived Uther Pendragon, a rich man with a lot of land. He had servants and a son but, mostly, Uther had camels. Lots and lots of camels. He had such a mass quantity his lot of land became know far and wide as Camel Lot.
Uther was very eccentric and vain so he insisted being known as King Uther. No one had the money to argue so Camel Lot gained its own monarchy. As king, Uther started taxing his servants and making laws. No one could yell at the camels. No one could marry a camel (not that anyone wanted to). Most importantly, there were to be no camelwhisperers! You could talk to camels, sure, who didn't? But in Uther's mind "Slow down you dratted beast!" and "Food!" was much different than the people who could make the camel understand them. Camelwhisperers simply had too much power! It would corrupt them!
The King's son, Prince Arthur was raised knowing this and although he would never admit it- He found his father's beliefs a little extreme. However, Arthur never spoke as such and dedicated his time training the Guards. The Guards main duty was to protect the camels from thieves and predators but they also upheld Uther's many laws. They collected the taxes, carried out punishments and always made sure no one dressed a camel in a white dress. It was a hard and dangerous job but they were higher on the totem pole than the servants, commoners and peasants. Most of them just did it for the cool red capes they wore.
So the camels prospered. Camel Lot prospered. Except the camels were sad because no human would even try to understand them. Terrible times were coming for Camel Lot.
Today though, today, Merlin was coming. Merlin was young, probably a little under twenty, and was going to live with his uncle Gaius. Gaius was the head veterinarian in Camel Lot. Lovely right?
Except when Merlin entered his quarters, Gaius was treating a patient. The camel was spooked at the noise of the door and was about to kick the old vet.
"No! Don't kick him!" Merlin burst out and to Gaius's surprise the camel did. Merlin just happened to be an illegal Camelwhisperer.
Merlin lived quietly- or actually he insulted the prince and was put in the stocks- until the big feast came along. That was when he saved Arthur's life from another Camelwhisperer trying to take revenge. Uther then awarded the young Camelwhisperer with the position… of Arthur's manservant.
…
Eventually, the prince and the Camelwhisperer became a sort of friends… Kind of. Merlin kept saving Arthur and the camels with his powers. Arthur kept making Merlin muck out Arthur's prized camel's pen. The two had an understanding.
Merlin never dared tell Arthur about his power, fearing the prince would tell his father. Instead the young Camelwhisperer saved Camel Lot in secret.
A\N: So did you like it? Do you want to see me "camelize" Knight Valiant? Personally, I'm not sure how I feel about this since the style is different than my usual. If there is a next chapter it will change to more of a story style.
Anyways... Review! Please? Pretty, pretty, please with a cherry- and whipped cream- on- with strawberries- top!
