I wrote this a long time ago, but didn't have the heart to post it, because I am in love with Fang. But, where you see the line is what I added, that's why I decided to post it.
Summary: After years, Max finally leaves Fang and his abusive ways. This causes Fang to realize he has a problem and check into rehab. And though he might not get Max back, you never forget your first love.
Thanks again for Beta reading this Chaos Ride!
A cry for help escaped my lips but there was no one around to here it. There never was.
"Fang, please stop!" I begged struggling to get his hands away from me. But there was no use, Fang was too strong, and it always ended the same way. Even after all this time, I couldn't over power him.
Every night this would happen. Fang would come home from work, slighty tipsy, and very violent. (Don't even ask me how he keeps his job, it's a mystery to me too.)
Most nights I would just stay hidden in a closet, or locked inside the attic, but other nights I wasn't so lucky. He'd hit me. Repeatedly. For no reason at all. But then when morning comes he'll kiss me on the forehead and claims he loves me, apologize sometimes, other times acting like he doesn't know where the bruises come from.
And believe him, that's why I'm still with him today. I always go to sleep thinking it's never going to happen again but the next night when he gets home- well, you get the picture.
"Shut up, you worthless slut!" Fang exclaimed backhanding me in the face, causing my head to snap to the side.
I did as he said knowing that angering him more wouldn't help the situation. But I've finally had enough of this, I'm out of here as soon as possible. I don't need any stuff, I just need gone. The door creaks as I open it, and the sidewalk is cold beneath my feet as I make my way down it.
"Max, get back here RIGHT NOW!" I heard Fang yelling from the door of the house, ever controlling and sadistic. But I just kept walking, and I didn't look back.
Fang's POV
"...After she left that night, I knew I needed to get help." Fang said slowly.
The therapist nodded with every word he spoke. "Well Fang, it sounds to me like Max isn't coming back," Fang winced. "But, You can honor her by joining rehab for your drinking problem."
Fang nodded in agreement.
It was the last day, his last chance. One of the exercises was to write down something you never got to say, roll it up and put in a balloon, and let the balloon go. Fang's was red, drifting in the air, flying away from him with the one thing he never got to say.
Max, If you're reading this right now. I'm sorry and I love you, I know I can't take back all the horrible things I did to you and I'll probably never see you again, but you'll always be in my heart, Maximum Ride.
