"I am fully aware, thank you very much!" I yelled back at the princess, who was walking away.
I know I'm weird, Azula.
I started stomping off, arms folded across my chest. "Hello, Longshot," I muttered, not turning around, knowing he was behind me again.
(How'd you know I was here?) he "asked" calmly.
"I sensed your presence," I deadpanned. I was almost in front of my room. I stopped and spun around on him.
"Is it really that bad to be different?" I said, dead serious.
He rolled his eyes. (Bee, you're not ordinary. None of us are ordinary. Is that a bad thing? No.)
I sighed. "Yeah, well–"
"Bee," he said, "just get your guitar and meet me at the front of the school.
I raised an eyebrow, but just sighed, shoved my hands into my pockets, and did what he said.
A few minutes later, I was sitting on our usual bench, guitar in my lap, waiting for him, wondering what crazy idea he was getting at.
It took a couple of minutes, but he reappeared, running toward me and waving a few sheets of paper.
He slid in next to me and handed them to me.
(Play this.)
I raised an eyebrow again, but looked at the paper.
I grinned.
"I've already memorized this one, thanks."
He smiled. (So play it.)
I rolled my eyes, but started strumming. Then singing.
"iSometimes I get so weird I even freak myself out
I laugh myself to sleep, it's my lullaby
Sometimes I drive so fast just to feel the danger
I wanna scream, it makes me feel alive/i
"iIs it enough to love, is it enough to breathe
Somebody rip my heart out and leave me here to bleed
Is it enough to die, somebody save my life
I'd rather be
Anything but ordinary, please/i
"iTo walk within the lines would make my life so boring
I want to know that I have been to the extreme
So knock me off my feet
Come on now, give it to me
Anything to make me feel alive/i
"iIs it enough to love, is it enough to breathe
Somebody rip my heart out and leave me here to bleed
Is it enough to die, somebody save my life
I'd rather be
Anything but ordinary, please
I'd rather be
Anything but ordinary, please/i
"iLet down your defenses, use no common sense
If you look you will see that this world is a
Beautiful accident, turbulent, succulent, opulent, permanent
No way I wanna taste it, don't wanna waste it away/i
"iSometimes I get so weird I even freak myself out
I laugh myself to sleep, it's my lullaby/i
"iIs it enough, is it enough, is it enough to breathe
Somebody rip my heart out and leave me here to bleed
Is it enough to die, somebody save my life
I'd rather be
Anything but ordinary, please
Is it enough, is it enough to die, somebody save my life
I'd rather be
Anything but ordinary, please
I'd rather be
Anything but ordinary, please/i"
I sighed and shook my head, chuckling at the ridiculousness of that plan. And the fact it worked.
(Feeling better?)
I rolled my eyes. "Yes."
He grinned, then stood up and held out his hand. (Come on.)
"Uh, where are we going?" I asked, taking it and standing up.
(To get some revenge, of course.) He shoved his hands into his pockets and started walking.
I grabbed everything and caught up. "How?"
He looked at me, an evil gleam in his eye. "Has Azula ever met The Duke?"
