Hello there, whomever may be reading this! This is my first go at posting something I've written, so, uh... yeah. 8D; 'Pologies that it's so short. Anyway, it's based off the game Clash of Ninja 2 or what have you... so that's why they're not hiding in trees fighting frontier style XD Enjoy or whatever. Oh yes and I am prone to typos.
You know I don't own Naruto.
Mindlessly fighting was not on Hinata's list of favorable things, which was probably why she was not among the list of favorable ninjas. She was always a pawn, a doll, her mind cloudy and reaction time slowed, always at the mercy of her opponent who was usually Sasuke, Gaara, Neji, or(heaven forbid) Naruto. She faced them despondently, not being able to comprehend when to attack or go on the defense. When she did muster up a retaliation they would only dissapear to attack from behind her, slamming their fists into her skull. She would fall, only to rise again, but they would continue to batter her until she could get up no more. Then they would smirk and walk off to face their next opponent, leaving her to, miraculously, recover and trudge back to the others.
One day, however, something changed. after a whispered conversation and many glances in her direction, the Third called her to the Academy battlefield. She gave a quiet "Thanks" as was customary to her character being chosen and walked dejectedly in the direction of the Academy schoolgrounds.
Upon reaching it she noticed, to her dismay, Sasuke was opposite her. He scoffed, and although he muttered it under his breath she caught the words too weak. Anger burned but she said nothing.
"Begin!" the Third's voice rang out.
Immediately Hinata noticed something different. Her thoughts were crisp and clear, she could see(ironic for one with the Byakugan), and as a confused-looking Sasuke threw some shuriken, she dodged them expertly. Expertly!
So she lunged. Without a moment's hesitation she landed three Juuken attacks and a slash with a kunai. The raven-haired boy crumpled to the ground.
"Now you see how it feels," she whispered fiercely as he staggered to his feet. "Now you know what it's like!"
More attacks. Hinata felt her chakra rising. Sasuke attempted to block her onslaught but she bulled through and hit him anyway. He sprawled out on the ground again. When he rose, though, she used her "special" attack. First she hit a chakra-enhanced blow to his front, the twirled to his side, then back, all around him, hitting him numerous times. When she reached the front again she gracefully brought her hands up and almost sort of activated the points she had hit, causing them to "explode" in a sense. He fell to his knees, then lay prostrate on the ground. He did not rise.
"Fight over. The winner; Hinata Hyuuga." The Third's voice came again.
"D-D-D'you think I changed? M-Maybe a little bit?" she asked no one in particular, but then she became very un-Hinata-like and smirked contemptuously. She stepped over the groaning Sasuke Uchiha.
"Too weak."
