Authours note: My first RPF. Don't kill me if it's awful. This is just me trying to get comfortable in my writing.
Disclaimer: I don't own Glee. I don't own Kurt and Blaine, if I did you could expect more Klisses. And I don't own Darren or Chris. *dammit*
Darren never usually had a problem with differentiating his character and himself.
He had read about actors who struggled to get ''out" of character after they had finished filming but he never experienced that. Granted, he'd never had to play a character that was too different from his own personality but still, he could switch Blaine on and off.
Usually.
It was the last night of the tour, he was psyched and he was still determined to not crack. Chris had been trying so damn hard to get him to crack. He'd even got the fans in on it and now everybody was tweeting about it and whatnot.
The 'Klaine Skit', as fans had dubbed it, had gone as normal except for Naya arriving on stage, kissing Heather and walking hand in hand with her off stage. But that was all scripted so contrary to the fans reactions, it wasn't a shock.
But then he had set eyes on Chris.
He looked so confident as he skipped toward him. So happy and Darren had to smile at that because over late nights, take-aways and going over scripts with Chris, Darren had learned all that Chris had to go through as a kid. With Hannah and all the bullying. Darren knew that if anybody on the cast deserved to be happy in this moment, it was Chris and Darren felt privileged to experience that with him.
Then Chris announced that he had written a poem for Blaine. Blaine listened to his poem. Kurt's sweet voice floated the air. The way his voice got higher pitched at different times and the twinkle in Kurt's eyes had always got Blaine's heart rate to pick up rapid speed and his palms clammy.
But he was Darren, not Blaine and he wasn't supposed to feel like that about Chris.
Darren quickly put it down to being in character. That was the only reason.
He continued to listen to Chris' poem but he suddenly - no, Blaine suddenly got distracted by the cheeky grin on Kurt's face. Gosh, he was sexy.
Woah, his Blaine was taking over.
Darren snapped into focus and then Chris was down on one knee.
It hit him.
This was going to be the last time they would be doing this.
The last time he would see Chris' beautiful face, hear his voice. Just be in his energetic, crazy presence. With his terrible yet cute as hell jokes, his geeky side which Darren absolutely adored and understood and his damn sea monkeys.
He quickly jumped back as Chris kicked his legs in the air. The way that got Darren thinking he'd never seen anything cuter. The way that got Blaine thinking, he corrected.
As he glanced down, he was met with sparkling mischievous blue eyes. He just desperately wanted to grab Chris in that moment and kiss him. Kiss him like nothing else mattered because he just looked so beautiful.
And wow. Before he could even stop himself that's exactly what had happened. His lips were on Chris Colfer's and they felt as perfect as they looked. For those few seconds everything in the world was perfect and then faster than he could say 'holy shit', he had pulled away.
And there was a split second of shock on the both of their faces before he finally registered the fans going mental.
And Darren knew Blaine had gotten him in to a bit of trouble.
That's exactly what it was. Darren had been too in-character and it was Blaine who desperately wanted to kiss Kurt.
Of course that was it.
Darren certainly did not have feelings for Chris.
He could tell himself that anyway.
