Dear Daddy,
When it was very small, I would ride upon your shoulders. Looking out on the world. And I would pretend I was big and tall like you, Daddy. When you were there to hold me, I was never afraid. You made me feel that there. was nothing that I couldn't do. If I had spread my wings to fly, I knew that you would be there to catch me if I had fell. That's why you're my hero, Daddy. I remember how you would chase the monsters from my room, how you would be there when Mom wasn't, and how you wanted to spend time with me so much that you skipped work to do just that. And cause you're my dad, I'm twice as blessed and lucky to be me. And as I got older, we would often disagree but you were still everything a dad should be. You even let me find myself in my own way. Its funny how I've just recently come to recognize, how wise you're becoming each and every day. There's so much that you have given me through out my life. But I can never repay you for the love you have shown me. I hope that I've made you proud. You're everything a dad should be. And it's time that I tell you, you're my hero. You didn't have to tell me, the love you gave me was the message I had heard. You inspired me to be all that I can. I'm writing this letter to tell you what you needed to know.
I know you will love your granddaughter. She will love you too. For now, I'll just keep in touch like this. But I will come to visit you. I love you Daddy.
