FIERY BLONDE

A/N: I don't know what just happened and suddenly I had this fic written. I remember being angry. Really angry.

Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail and all its magical content.

Lucy feels like the world is crashing down around her when Makarov suddenly announce the disbandment of Fairy Tail right after her pillar of strength, Natsu had just left her the previous day. Her breath got caught in her lungs and she feels like vomiting. This can't be happening. No. She can't accept this.

"You can't do this!" she screams at Makarov. Everyone turn their head towards the celestial mage. She repeat herself, "You can't do this, Master." (please) Her voice sounds so brittle. Unlike the feisty Lucy they all know that always speaks with a loud, confident voice. "I don't have anywhere to go if this guild is disband." No one dare to interrupt for Lucy had just voiced out what everyone feel at the moment.

Makarov look at her with pity in his eyes. Poor, Lucy. Poor, pitiful and lonely child. Always needing help. Always needing companion. Useless when is left all alone. Of course, that is not what Makarov thought about but Lucy's panic-stricken mind had come out with many negatives thought. One far more ruthless than the other. It's driving her insane! Maybe Makarov notices the manic gleam in her eyes and ask her to stay back for a moment after the sudden announcement. Everyone deflated after hearing that.

"Lucy, I know how much this guild means to you-"

No, you don't.

"-but for the sake of greater good, this is the best course of action I had to take. Please understand."

Makarov's voice turn hoarse at the end and Lucy stops her hands from the urge to cover her ears. She don't want to listen anything the old man she had come to see as a father figure says any further. If she didn't hear it, maybe it's not real. Maybe she will wake up the next day and get to meet everyone at the guild and go on many adventures! But deep in her heart, she knows no matter how much she protested, cried until she went blind, their guild master will not change his decision.

"I….I understand," she said finally after a moment of silence.

Lies.

She doesn't understand. She couldn't.

What she did understand is how selfish Makarov really is. Fighting alone? Entering the enemy's country to collect information? She scoffed at that. He can send anyone from Fairy Tail to do just that yet he decides to go on his own. He's the most selfish person she'd ever met. Lucy turn around after bidding her goodbyes to Makarov and clench her fist tightly until she could feel the pain from her nails digging into her skin and trickles of blood start to flow.

Ah, much better.

The next day, almost everyone from the guild had evacuated the small town of Magnolia. No one bothered to say goodbyes to each other. They all drifted away one by one. Each of them following a path that took them far away from Fairy Tail.

Maybe they could not bear the pain of seeing an empty guild.

Maybe it's best to leave it all behind.

Lucy is among the last member, correction, the last ex-member of Fairy Tail that leaves Magnolia. She could not bear to see the faces of her friends leaving her one by one that she opt to lock herself in her house for the whole day until…...

...until she's convinced that she's the last person to leave Fairy Tail behind.

She still feels angry.

Damn Natsu for leaving her.

Damn the Master for being so selfless.

She cast a long look at the guild. In the evening sky, the guild looks ominous, like an abandoned castle that housed ghosts. The ghost of their past.

Dragging her suitcase along the dirt, she turns her back towards the place she called home and set out on a journey.

One where she isn't define by her companion, but herself.
