Lily's eyes are puffy, and her face is red. She cannot stand. She cannot think. All she can do is cry. He's not here anymore. He's different. The days were feeling like years.

"I've missed you, Severus."

He hisses brutally, "Oh, you haven't forgotten me then?" Her throat chokes up, and she looks away as not meet his eyes.

"No…no I haven't," she says softly. He says nothing to this, and there is a bitter silence. "But…I really have missed you. Why won't you-"

He scoffs and says, "I'm not going to talk to you while you're still with him. You never listened to me! I told you he fancied you!"

"But I – I mean…. I'm sorry, Severus." She looks up at him, and he sees her eyes are full of tears, and he's torn inside. "But we've changed…" She turns to go away, and he's feeling the same hurt inside just as she does.

He misses her, too.

Lily grabs her pillow and thrusts it on the floor. Where the pillow used to lie is a white shirt, and she grabs it enthusiastically and puts it to her nose. It smells just like him…

It was when she had accidentally fallen in the lake in their third year. Severus had reluctantly let her borrow his shirt for some dry clothes, but she had never given it back. The shirt had always lied under the pillow, that when she breathed deeply at night, his smell filled her up inside. It made her feel a wonderful sensation when she smelled that shirt.

She pulls it over her head, and the sensation returns. If only he could wrap his arms around her waist and she could feel his breath and smell the real smell of him…

He's gone, and that scares her.

Something inside him was saying they were meant to be together. But why had he let her go that way? If only if he had held onto her, maybe she wouldn't have drifted to…Potter.

All he had ever wanted was her, but she had left him. He wanted her to be here right now; to run her fingers through his hair, and feel her slender hands on his chest. They would close their eyes and then maybe their lips would meet…

He's sure they would both give up their hearts and souls for each other…
