When Janie looked over to her grandfather clock, it read seven p.m. and she's still sitting in her soft armchair, waiting for the fimilar sound of tires on the rocky road leading up to her house way out in the middle of the country in Montana.
She closed her eyes and was about to doze off when the sound made her snap up and she was out the back door, staring out at the setting sun and beautiful mountains in a second.
The black van with the red stripe was kicking up dirt as it sped along, nearing rapidly.
Janie felt her diamond ring anxiously and her heart pick up its pace as she waited. She had been waiting for almost a year now, and she had the biggest surpise for her husband.
This mission had taken the team across the sea and to many other countries that Janie was too tired and excited to think about now. All she cared about was the certain man sitting in the back seat, most likely rambling about something that made no sense to anybody except himself.
Tears of joy ran down Janie's cheeks as the van came to a stop a few yards away and she found herself running, sprinting, to the van as the doors slid open and as soon as Face stepped to the side, a tall figure was running towards Janie.
She closed her eyes as soon as they met, his arms surrounding her and she began to cry.
When she lifted her face, his lips came down on hers with a passion she had missed. His hands pressed her to him, never wanting to let her go.
When the kiss was broken and she had burried her face in his chest, smelling his old brown jacket, her hand still in his light brown and slightly blonde hair.
"I've missed you so much, Mrs. Murdock." He whispered in her ear, sighing deeply.
She sniffed and hugged him tighter. "I've missed you so much too, Howling Mad."
When the front door of her house slammed shut, indicating the three men had finally left them alone, her husband swung her up into his arms and kissed her again.
They began walking back to the house. "Is anybody injured? Are you injured?" Janie asked, holding on tightly to Murdock.
"We're all fine, don't you worry sweetheart." He smiled as he stepped up onto the porch.
"That's good." She took in a deep breath. She cared about each of the four men and let them live in the house with her and Murdock. But now, her only thought was on Murdock and her suprise for him.
"Sweety, I've got a suprise for you." She began, her eyes lighting up warmly.
As if to back up her statement, Face's voice was heard from the other side of the door.
"Oh wow! Murdock!"
Murdock cocked his head curiously and flung the door open, setting his wife on her feet and taking her hand in his.
She led him, both nearly bouncing, over to where Face, Hannibal, and B.A. were standing, both looking down into a tall peice of furniture with huge grins on their faces.
Murdock looked once at Janie and then into the crib. A cute, small baby girl was laying on her back. She was looking up at everyone with a curious look in her eyes.
Murdock gasped and his eyes grew huge, not believing what he was seeing. As he lifted the girl into his arms, she made a small noise, almost as if she was annoyed and put her tiny arms around his neck.
"She's been waiting for you." Janie said, wrapping her arm around his middle.
"You didn't tell me?" He asked, rocking the girl.
Janie bit her lip. "I really did try, honest. I had no way to get to you, no idea of your location. Her name's Hannah May."
Hannibal laughed softly. "H.M. Murdock, that's neat."
"Yes! And Hannah was my mother's name, May was her birthmonth." Janie hugged her husband and child, hoping for this moment to last forever.
It wouldn't, and it wouldn't be long before they had to leave again, but for now, there were no worries and things were perfect.
