The night is warm still five year old Andy shivers in my arms. First run in with a demon'll do that to you.
Her face is ashen, cheeks damp with tears.
She's attempting, with some success, to shove her entire fist into her mouth.
Her breath hitches, she wipes her nose on my jacket. It's ok though I have nothing else to offer.
The reflection of the flames dances in her eyes.
She won't look away from the fire.
I know I should make her but I don't.
Because I know how she feels.
My brother's in that house too.
