Darkness covered the sky. Images flashed through the air. A penny on the ground. A paper covered with crossed out dreams. A broken plate. A bloodied fist. Himself laying on the ground.
Scents pushed through his mind. An exhaust filled street. A musty house. A boy's fear. A man's anger. His own blood.
Emotions ran through body. Luck. Utter frustration. Overwhelming sadness. Unending agony. Empty.
A hint of light shot through the blackened sky.
Again, images burst through the air. A wisp of long black hair. A beautiful face. A number on a napkin. A midnight picnic. A gentle kiss. A wedding ring.
Again, scents went through his mind. A nice perfume. A lush meadow. A sweet breath. A bouquet of flowers.
Again, emotions rushed through his body. Shyness. Nervousness. Anticipation. Love. Happiness.
Endless black clouds covered the sky, blocking out any hint of sunlight.
My insides all turn to ash, so slow...
One last time, images carved a path through the air. A woman yelling. A bond broken. A divorce paper. An empty bottle. A syringe. A shredded rose. Nothing.
One last time, emotions traveled through his body. Disbelief. Betrayal. Completely numb. Total rage. Always alone. Never ending pain. Nothing.
He woke with a cry, his muscular arms reaching for the empty spot beside him. Feeling nothing but the cold, empty bed, he bowed his head, a single tear made its way from under lidded eyes. Traveling down his handsome face, down the stubbled chin, falling forever...
