This is a story of a girl with a perfect life.
Except, it isn't really, is it? (It never is).
She's Lily Potter II, so everyone knows that she's going to go on to do great things.
Only, sometimes the pressure of everything is just too much. No–one can be good at everything. (Can they ?)
She's got laughing, chocolate coloured eyes, and a brilliant smile.
But too many people don't know that, sometimes, it's the people that laugh the most that also cry the most. (Later, of course, when no one can see).
She's Lily, so of course she gets perfect grades, and of course the teachers adore her.
But (maybe, possibly) only because she's got a cold sense of logic and a crimson heart.
She's got a loving family and caring friends.
Only, sometimes she wonders what would happen if the safe, sensible, boring one went off the rails.
She's the girl who's perfect, who has the brightest spark, who's full of knowledge and interest.
Except, that expectation is s-l-o-w-l-y crushing her, until she sometimes thinks about just stopping (only she'd feel so very guilty).
She's the renowned rule-keeper and good girl.
And yet, she is slowly going off the rails, and no-one's noticed. (Or, no-one cares. She's not entirely sure what the difference is anymore).
She's a Potter, so she's the reliable friend, who never bothers anyone, and never breathes a word of any secret she's told.
And that's all well and good, but it's only because she's seen secrets wrench people and friendships apart. (No-one told her what her secrets could do to her if she carried them alone, though.)
She has wonderful friends who support her.
Only, they tease her too, and sometimes it hits home a little too hard.
She's got amazing ambitions, things she loves to do, people she identifies with.
(It's the brightest sparks that burn out before you even realise).
She wants a chance to love, and she does, sometimes.
Other times, she just can't muster up the energy to take the chance (and she knows that's wrong, she really does).
She's Lily Potter II, so she has to have the good days; the bright days, when her spark shines; the bubbly "Good morning!" days that everybody sees.
Only, she also has the dark, midnight days where she cries until she can't breathe in the bathroom, clutching a razor blade. (No-one sees those).
She's always been good at acting.
Only, she's scared she's going to get better.
Pressure.
Even Lily Potter II (brightest spark in the world that she is) can only take so much.

A/N: Thanks for reading! I hope you found it interesting, and not too boring (I know there was literally no plot). This was my first post, so if you want to comment, I'm curious if anyone thought it was alright. I'm sorry if it didn't seem to connect that much to Lily Potter II, or what we know about her - it's actually based on a piece I wrote a while ago about no one in particular.
Cheers, NeverIgnoreCoincidence!
