THE NEW SEASON, PEEPS! THE...NEW...SEASON! My Thor! If you're reading this, then obviously you've either seen it or don't mind spoilers. MY BABY DAGUR IS...IS...I CAN'T. DO YOU KNOW HOW BAD THAT FELT? OF COURSE YOU DO, YOU'RE ALSO A PART OF THE DRAGON FANDOM. AND EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SEASON WAS AMAZING.
So, I just thought I wanted to do Astrid's reaction to Hiccup ditching her (not cool, bro! Although the episode was amazing, and his flight scene in the beginning was awesome too. So I'm glad he ditched her. Shh, don't tell her I said that.)

If getting out was a hassle, then coming in was impossible.

Oh, he knew he'd have to deal with Astrid's wrath eventually, he just didn't think that the first thing he'd see when he went inside the stables was her fingering her axe quietly, leaning against the wall.

"Oh, look who remembered that the Edge exists."

"Astrid -" he tried, but she cut him off right away, not giving him a chance to say anymore.

"You have no idea, do you?" she hissed. Her eyes narrowed and she stepped closer. "Forgot that you have friends back here who might...oh, I don't know, be worried about you?"

"Astrid -"

"Don't. Don't talk, don't try to reason with me, don't even tell me where you were. Just tell me this, Hiccup. Do you trust me? Or am I just going to slow you down on your little expeditions, huh? Do I even mean anything to you!?"

"Of course you do!" Hiccup exclaimed, surprised that her mind had even gone there. "I just needed some alone time, and -"

"And of course, flying around this pretty big island would be too much of you to ask. But oh please, Chief Haddock," she spat, punctuating every syllable harshly, "go wherever you want. Go to Valhalla, for all I care." She raised her axe and pointed it at him. "Because obviously, obviously, we wouldn't give a damn."

At this, he stayed silent. He couldn't tell her about Dagur, but he also couldn't deny her accusations.

"And let's see, when you do go somewhere, it'd be nice to come back also. Just because, oh, you know, everyone here is freaking out, I'm wondering whether or not I should get Stoick and the A Team to come help us save you. Oh, but wait!" She let out a slightly hysterical laugh. "Why would they care if you were kidnapped and tortured by dragon hunters? Why would any of us care that you decided to go blow yourself up or get killed or jump off a cliff or something!?"

Her voice had gone high at the end, and by now he was looking down, his fists clenched to match hers. She walked towards him slowly and now he could see there were even a few tears glistening in her eyes, a proof of how worried she had been. Oh, she was going to kill -

Kiss. She was going to kiss him, hard on the mouth, her arms flying around his neck, his arms returning the gesture around her waist. It didn't last long, and Hiccup felt himself following her lips as she pulled away. Her glare was still firmly in place.

"You're an idiot, Hiccup. You need to realize that the reason you oh-so generously brought us along was because you need our help."

"I know, Astrid, I know." He reached for her, but she stepped back, not meeting his eyes. "And I'm sorry. I'm really, really, sorry. But you have to understand, this is something I needed to do. Just like how you felt a need to protect Berk, and -"

"At least I told you what I was doing. Don't compare the situations." She put a hand on her hip, and defiantly met his gaze once more.

"But can you -"

"No. I can't forgive you." She turned away and walked towards the door.

Hiccup was baffled now. "Then why did you -"

"I can't stay mad at you either, especially not with that kicked puppy look you have." She opened the door and paused with a sigh. "I'll tell the gang you're back." She started walking. "Why don't you go jump off a cliff or something in the meantime?"
