"Why can't I swim?" He was running out of oxygen, his mind quickly closing in around him. Salt stung his eyes as he frantically reached for the surface. 'This isn't happening,' he thought, then Kenji Himura's mind went completely black.

"So, if I kill Kenji Himura you'll pay me three hundred yen?" A young girl inquired a look of smug pleasure dancing across her face.

"Yes, that's exactly it." A cloaked figure answered from the shadows. The girl smirked amusingly.

"And how will I do this? According to my resources this guy is still on some boat in the middle of the sea. How the heck am I supposed to know which one? Much less," she paused looking directly into the man's eyes, "How am I to know you'll keep your word?" A snigger escaped the man's partly closed lips.

"I knew you would ask." Leaning over he deposited a small bag into the girl's waiting hands. "As for your other question... Go catch a fish." Smiling he stood and left, quickly fading into the shadowed streets of China. The girl stood glaring after him until another voice broke into her thoughts.

"Not very good with words is he Sakura?" Whipping around to face another direction Sakura was left facing a very familiar face. Wearing a black, orange flowered kimono was her best friend, Chizuru.

"Out partying again 'Ru? 'Cause ya know you sure missed an exciting deal." Sakura glanced tauntingly at her friend. She was dismayed to see that she only smiled.

"If I recall you're the one who parties 'Kura. And as for the kimono, do you fully expect me to go walking around all of China in a ninja suit? And thirdly, I've been here the whole time you baka!" With that she leaned against the wall watching as Sakura's pale face turned a beat red.

"Cruel jerk." she muttered. "Hey Chizuru? How am I supposed to catch a fish?"

"Well you'll need a fishing boat and nets-"

"But how am I supposed to buy them?" Chizuru grinned.

"Who said buy? Don't worry I can handle it. After all I'm the spy here and if I wasn't good my head would be stuck on some pole, am I right or am I right? Come on, let's go." With that she stared walking down the street towards the docks. Wondering what the heck was going on Sakura followed.

While twisting down alleyways Sakura took advantage of the distance between her and Chizuru to come up with a few insults. Opening her mouth in a wicked grin she began. "Oooh. No need to worry I'm a good spy. Yeah well I'm fully capable. Spying, mercenary, same diff! That know it all. D-Ahhh, oww!"

Chizuru whipped around to silence her friend but it was too late. A whistle blew close by, and before she knew it, Sakura and her were at a dead run for the boats. "Nice going baka! Now look what you've done."

"Well, the wall hurt and besides," Sakura grinned hopefully, "you'll still get your boat." That is, if we get there in time, thought Sakura silently. Then she focused souly on running for her life.
