Broken Path

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

It was a bright, warm Saturday afternoon and Castiel was sitting down at a park bench alone. Deep in thought, Castiel paid no attention to anyone or anything around him. But he was aware that he was no longer invisible to people.

Having fallen, Castiel's first day on Earth as a human had been a lonely one. He had been too afraid to go see Dean Winchester; the human that he had betrayed…

Their last meeting kept replaying in his mind and it bothered Castiel that the older Winchester had told him to 'Go to Hell' Castiel shuddered as he heard Deans voice repeat the words in his head again.

He had been on Earth for three days now. Castiel had spent most of the time running from demons that knew he had fallen. A demon came close the other night, giving him fresh cuts and bruises. But he barely managed to escape. After the close call, Castiel found himself standing outside Dean's motel.

He was about to walk towards Deans room. But at that moment, the impala had just pulled into the parking spot that was right outside their room. Stopping, Castiel quickly hid behind some cars. He was close enough to over hear their conversation. And Castiel was not surprised that it was about him.

Sam was trying to convince Dean that they should go look for him. They had somehow discovered that he had fallen. But Dean was still angry and refused to look.

"I don't care what happens to him!" Dean snapped, as he slammed his car door shut. He glared at his brother, who only looked back at him with worry.

"So just drop this alright. I'm not changing my mind." Dean said sternly as he opened the door to their room. Dean quickly walked inside, and managed to slam the door shut in Sam's face. Sam's shoulders sagged and he sighed. He took a deep breath before opening the door and closing it behind him.

From where he was standing Castiel could hear them arguing. He decided that it was best that he stayed away. Gulping nervously, Castiel took a quick look around the parking lot. He was the only one in sight. Getting up slowly, Castiel cringed when he felt pain ripple down his leg and chest. Now limping, Castiel headed towards the park.

Closing his eyes Castiel sighed. He remembered how he felt right after hearing Dean and Sam fight. It hurt more to hear Dean say those words, than his actual physical injuries. That night had been the worst for him.

After dressing his wounds, it was well after dark. But it had started to rain and he had to find a dry place to hide. He decided to hide under a small bridge outside the park, and slowly sitting down, Castiel did the one thing he never thought he'd ever do… he cried

Authors Note: I could really use a beta reader. So if anyone is willing to help me out, just send me a message. Hope you review. It's been a really long time since I've written a fanfic and this is my first Supernatural story.
