Ziva smiled as she came to sit down on the couch beside McGee, popcorn bowl in hand. The two kicked their feat up simultaneously onto the table, leaning back in unison, and she placed the bowl down between them, popping a few pieces into her mouth as she did so. It was a perfect start to a relaxing weekend she thought. She reached forward, grabbing the DVD remote.
"I am glad that you were able to come over," she said simply, turning her head so she could look at her partner directly. "I know it was such short notice."
Tim shook his head gently, going to reach out to take her free hand, squeezing it softly. He knew the real reason why she wanted him here; ever since her break up with Ray, things had been hard on her. She was lonely more often, reflecting on her relationship choices and why her choice in men always seemed to go so awry. He wasn't about to abandon a friend in a time of need, no matter how last minute the request for plans had been.
He didn't say any of that aloud, of course. It would only have led to her stiffening at being read so well, emotionally shoving him away, like she always did when it was clear people were getting to know her too well. "Nothing is gonna get in the way between me and a Harry Potter marathon," he said simply, grabbing a handful of popcorn and popping a piece into his mouth.
"We are lucky it is going to be a long weekend," she said cheerfully.
"Just don't make me sleep on the couch, alright?"
She smirked, hitting play, and looking forward at the television. "We shall see."
