Morning
Mornings used to seem like an unrealistic nightmare for Soul. Waking up took so much effort. Opening your eyes only to be blinded by the light and then receiving a headache from the blood rushing through your body by standing up and hearing those god damn annoying birds being so cheerful and high-pitched - ugh.
But he did what he had to do, and eventually grew accustomed to waking up at a reasonable time.
And now, the mornings before him were like an unrealistic dream.
The open windows caused the pale curtains to gently flutter about and the golden rays of the sun streaming in bathed his room in warmth. The birds seemed more on key with their chittering and chattering and the girl in front of him would make his heart skip a beat.
Now, Soul always woke up early.
The olive-skinned boy slowly reached out and touched the pale face of the being before him. He wanted to trace every single inch and memorize every patch of skin. He found her beautiful.
The winds caused the curtains to move and her dark blonde hair to shift.
Always, every morning, staring at his roommate caused Soul to feel like he was on the brink of bliss. He could feel his heart being filled with emotions so strong he was sure it would overtake him.
Such a strong emotion should be scary. But the emotions Maka gave Soul were anything but.
And when her long gorgeous eyelashes would separate to reveal her green gorgeous eyes, Soul's heart would flutter along with them. He could almost feel her eyes focus on him and he could almost swore that this time, this time, he hadn't been holding his breath. Yet, just like always, it came out quickly and a strange sense of relief and comfort flooded through him.
"Good morning, Maka," he would often murmur in a low, scratchy voice. He would slowly drag his hand away from her face, and then slowly down her arm or down her side or maybe even along her spine. Her reply would always be a soft giggle and sometimes a kiss on the cheek or on the forehead or maybe even on the lips.
"Hey, Soul."
This morning, however, rather than continuing their daily routine of Maka getting out of bed first and getting ready, Soul moved closer and wrapped his arms around her.
"You know, waking up before you is really tiring," the male sighed, resting his forehead against hers.
"No one asked you to wake up before me," Maka mumbled, scooting closer to the other as well.
"True... It's become a habit though." Soul felt the girl's small hands move down his chest, then up to his arms. He let himself relax at her touch, and closed his red eyes. "Let's stay like this for a bit."
The two spent their Sunday in leisure after that.
(A/N) Thank you for reading!
I really love writing about characters waking up next to the ones they like it seems like... I even wrote an original about it using a guy I liked at the time as one of the characters;;;;;
I'm sorry for being strange;;;
I hope you enjoyed it! Please leave a review of feedback or constructive criticism if you can.
