Experimenting with the impossible
By forever temporarily insane
A/N: I shall be ignoring some dates and such trivial things. If you don't like, I never said I was forcing you to read this. But please, I have horrible spelling and grammar, so tell me if something needs fixing or if you have any ideas for what I should put in.
Summary: 16 year old Tom Riddle is given a time turner and instructions on how to use it by a mysterious stranger while in hogsmeade. He experiments with it, and uses it to go to the future. I will tell you no more. Bwa. Ha. Ha.

Toms POV:
I walked out of the school, away from that fool Dumbledore and the rest of the imbeciles in my year. As I walked towards Hogsmeade, I thought about my decision. I knew that making a Horcrux would hurt immensely, as I was literally tearing my soul in two, but I had goals to accomplish, and I needed to have enough time. If I could figure out how to not split my soul in half each time, but instead split the Horcrux(?)... I dunno if that would work, but then at least I wouldn't have the pain every time. Anyways. I walked into the Three Broomsticks, having been told by a note to meet a man identified as Father Doom at the Hogshead. I left a message there on my way to meet me in the Three Broomsticks; the Hogshead was owned by Dumbledore's idiot brother.
A man in a hood walked into the room, and pulled me into the corner. He said to me in a low, hissing voice: "Tommy boy, use this wisely and use this well. The time may come for you to need it. Read the manual, and experiment as you will. Just remember, people may know you for things you do not remember doing. "
He left a package with me, a book on time turners and manipulating time, and a small hourglass necklace. I immediately went back to the castle to test the device, whatever it was.

I walked back into the castle, not daring to take the items out of the package, as the portraits were probably watching and reporting. I know, sounds paranoid, but you're not paranoid if they're really out to get you. I walked down to the entrance of the Slytherin common room, but deciding against it, instead walked to the left, opened the passageway to Salazar Slytherin's private rooms, and opened up the book. There was a letter tucked in between the front few pages that read:
Dear Tom,
If you are reading this, the experiment worked. I made it forward and back without a problem. Please copy this down and keep it with you at all times, as well as the book and Time Turner. What you need to do is take the Time Turner apart, magnetize the time sands, and put it back together when you are ready to go forwards. Then, when you are ready to come back, demagnetize it, and bring the copy of this letter, the book, and the Time Turner to your past self. After doing so, obliviate yourself.
Best of luck,
Tom Marvolo Riddle
Last descendant of Salazar Slytherin

I spread the instructions out on my bed, looking over them one last time. I took out the time turner, and carefully took it apart, dumping the time sands onto a small table and casting hic arenam magnetica at them. They glowed slightly red, before reverting to their original color. I put them back into their original casing, and took out my trunk, which I had placed and undetectable extension charm on. It contained all my possessions, and anything I thought I would need, like food and water. TheTime Turner was already set for a certain date, and so I spun the little hourglass 3 times, and found myself spinning.
