Shadowdance
And
I'd give up forever to touch you,
Cause I know that you feel me
some how.
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be,
And I
don't want to go home right now.
Logan watched Rogue as she sat in the window seat in the library, chewing thoughtfully on her pen as she worked on her homework.
He didn't know when it had happened, but somehow something started to change. He found himself watching her more closely, itching for just one chance to touch her.
Breathing in, he casually approached.
"Hey Kid, whatcha' doin'"?
"Algebra".
Logan silently praised Scott, he taught math, and Rogue's worst subject, though she was still quiet good at it.
It didn't mean she liked it.
"Need any help"?
She shifted over as an invitation.
Logan moved in behind her, hooking his leg along her free side, so she couldn't escape. The posture caused her to naturally lean back against him, and he caught a strong scent of her shampoo.
And
all I can taste is this moment,
And all I can breathe is your
life,
And sooner or later it's over,
I just dont want to miss
you tonight.
A slow torture to be sure, but one he would enjoy for all it was worth.
He looked over her shoulder at the assignment, and together they made short work of the questions.
Too short in his opinion.
And
I dont want the world to see me,
Cause I dont think that they'd
understand.
When everything's ment to be broken,
I just want
you to know who I am.
Logan lay awake that night, like had so many other before. He wanted to tell her, didn't want to keep it a secret. He couldn't help feeling the disapproval of the others weighing heavily upon him.
They all had reaons for it.
He was too old.
She was too young.
She was the ultimate in what he couldn't have.
He didn't care, they didn't understand.
And
you cant fight the tears that ain't coming,
Or the moment of the
truth in your lies.
When everything feels like the movies,
Yeah
you bleed just to know you're alive.
Logan crept into Rogue's room to watch her sleep, just as he had done secretly for years. At first it had been to make sure she was safe, to keep her from her nightmares.
Now, he found it soothing.
The
few stray moments they could spend together, and nobody could judge
them. And I dont want the world to see me,
'Cause I dont
think that they'd understand.
When everything's ment to be
broken,
I just want you to know who I am.
He
watched her breathe, watched the moon play over her gloveless hands.
In a way he felt guilty, just a dirty old man. In another, he felt he
was commiting the most holiest of sins. And I dont want the
world to see me,
Cause I dont think that they'd understand.
When
everything's ment to be broken,
I just want you to know who I am.
In the predawn hours he left her.
In the morning light he would continue to play the part of the concerned friend, if not the serrogate father.
Leave the truth to the night, where they had only the shadows to keep their secret.
And
dream of the day when he would be free to tell her, and they would
share in the moonlight together. And I dont want the world
to see me,
Cause I dont think that they'd understand.
When
everything's ment to be broken,
I just want you to know who I
am.
I just want you to know who I am.
I just want you to know
who I am.
I just want you to know who I am.
