Hey everyone. This story was brought to you by Hogwarts Northern Winter Funfair's Build an Igloo, Hogwarts Southern Winter Funfair's Present Wrapping Station, and Hogwarts Eastern Winter Funfair's Gingerbread Decorating on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. For Build an Igloo I wrote for the pairing of Orion/Druella. For Present Wrapping Station I wrote for Step 5 Add a Bow and a Gift Tag the prompt was the plot point of receiving a gift. For Gingerbread Decorating I wrote for 5. Licorice and the prompt was write about something fragile. I hope you all enjoy Druella's Christmas Wish.
Durella's blonde hair fell into her eyes as she stared down the boy she knew to be her secret Santa for this year, Orion Black. She hadn't expected him to know anything about what she would want. She was a girl after all and boys didn't really know what girls wanted.
"Druella," Orion called her name across the room his family was holding the Christmas party in, "I was looking for you everywhere." He had reached her at this point.
Druella smiled. "You've found," she stated bluntly trying to hide from everyone the fact that she cared about the boy in front of her. "What exactly were you looking for me for?" Like she didn't know why Orion Black was looking for her. She knew perfectly well.
"As you know my parents did a Secret Santa," Orion stated pausing to let her answer.
Raising an eyebrow as though to say she knew she nodded for him to continue. She could see that the conversation had garnered the attention of the boy her parents had arranged for her to marry, Cygnus Black.
"Well," Orion ran his hand through his hair, "I drew your name." Held out the wrapped parcel in his hands gently. "It's very fragile."
She took the wrapped box and could feel a slight weight to the box. She wondered what would be fragile that would weigh this much. Sitting down on the lowest step of the grand staircase she gently pulled the Snowman wrapping paper off the box. It was an antique box one that most her mother's good snow globes came in.
"Do open box," Orion whispered excitedly. He really wanted to see her reaction to the present. He knew how bad she had wanted one those snow globes just like her mother had and once he'd saved enough money up he went and bought one for her.
Pulling the top off the antique box carefully she looked into the box. A look of pure and utter awe fell over her face as she place the box carefully on the floor and pulled out the most beautiful snow globe she'd ever seen in her life. Even more beautiful than the ones that her mother had. The scene that was in it had a young blonde girl and dark haired boy making a snowman together with one of those old fashioned street lamps and park benches nearby.
"It's beautiful, Orion," she whispered in awe. "Thank you so much." She gently placed the snow globe into the box and stood up and kissed Orion gently on the lips. So far this was the happiest Christmas season she'd ever had.
I hope you all enjoyed Druella's Christmas Wish.
