Hey. I wrote something.

James Potter was the most annoying self-absorbed, obnoxious toe-rag ever to walk this planet. He would always bump into me, on purpose, and make me drop my books, constantly tried to chat me up and I always caught him staring at my in class. For six years my opinion of James Potter didn't change. He was insufferable. Annoying. Cocky. When I found out he was Head Boy I almost stormed up to Dumbledore's office and ask him what he was thinking. The Head Boy and Girl shared a common room, near the prefects bathroom. At first, he never came. I enjoyed the peace and quiet. But a few weeks into the term he and his friends would come in and spoil my peace. He would occasionally leave me notes on my desk, always folded four ways with "Evans" written in green ink on the top. They were mostly compliments about my eyes and my hair. On my birthday there was a small box underneath the note. I opened the note first. It read,

"Happy birthday to the green eyed girl. I made it myself. James"

I opened the box and saw a necklace. It was simple. One green jewel with two rugged silver leaves at the sides. I saw him smile when I walked into Transfiguration wearing it that afternoon. I was slowly falling for him. His words made me love him. It was Christmas that he really captured my heart. There was a note, and underneath the note a box. A green box tied with a red ribbon. The note read:

"To my red haired girl, Merry Christmas. Love James"

He had gotten a little more ambitious with his words recently. I opened the box and gasped. It was a ring. It had a snitch on it. There was a note underneath the ring that read,

"tap it with your wand"

So I did. The snitch opened and inside he had ingraved the words,

"I love you"

I understood why he had made it the snitch. I was the snitch and he was the seeker constanly chasing after me, wanting to make me his. I heard the door and I saw him. James Potter. Grinning. I ran over to him and hugged him.

"Thank you."

I whispered in his ear. He pulled back for a moment and we just looked at each other. Then I was certain. I was in love with James Potter, the one guy I had said I would never fall for in a billion years. I could tell he was looking at my eyes. He must had loved them. He leaned in and kissed me gently. He tasted like butterbeer and Christmas cake. His lips were soft. I kissed him back. I never wanted that moment to end. He pulled away and I leaned in and whispered,

"I love you too"

in his ear. I kissed him again. I was filled with every good emotion there is to feel. We broke apart and I slipped on his ring.

"The great hall?"

He asked.

"Yes, the great hall."

I replied softly. He took my hand and we walked down the many flights of stairs to the great hall for the Hogwarts Christmas feast. We walked in hand in hand and my best friend Alice dropped her fork when she saw us. Sirius just started laughing.

"Right, Moony, Wormtail, I do believe you owe me three galleons each"

Lupin and Peter both fumbled around in their pockets whilst Alice retorted,

" You were betting on how long it took for them to get together!"

"Well yeah,"

Sirius said as if it was quite stupid to think otherwise

"I bet that they would get together before new year and these two"

He jerked his thumb at Lupin and Peter

"Doubted me so we made a bet"

I'm not sure what exactly Alice said next but I'm sure it was along the lines of,

"how childish"

I sat next to James and we held hands underneath the table. Alice started cooing over my ring and I think her boyfriend, Frank was starting to feel a little left out. We slipped away quietly and went back up to our common room. We kissed. We kissed for what felt like forever. I never wanted that forever to end. I loved him, and I couldn't help but wonder. Why hadn't I fallen for his earlier?

I hope you enjoyed this fic. I just always wondered how James and Lily got together, in the end. Remember, reviews are like cookies but better :o :D
