A/N: This is something that I found on my flash drive, so it is possibly horrible to some but I thought it was cute. Anyway, let me know what you think! Read, Review, Favorite, Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter.

Hermione was sitting in library with a big pile of books around her in her favorite corner. She was trying to read but she kept feeling like someone was staring at her. She looked around for what felt like the hundredth time and still didn't see anyone. Ron was supposed to meet her here so they could go to Hogsmeade together. She sighed and went back to her book.

She got past the page she was reading and heard noises in the aisle next to her. She got up and went to the noise and saw something she didn't want to see. She now knew why Ron was late. He was with another girl.

She ran out of the library, not even bothering to get her stuff. She didn't know where she was running to, just away from Ron. She stopped when she reached the lake edge. She sat down on the bank and just stared off. After awhile she felt the feeling she was being stared at again. She looked around and still didn't see anyone. When she looked at the tree she looked up farther into it and saw one of her new friends, Draco Malfoy.

After the war, everything changed. The house rivalries were gone but everyone was scared to talk to each other because of the past. On the first day back Hermione was walking to the Great Hall and walked into Draco and they just started talking. Draco was taking the blame for walking into her and offered to walk her to the Great Hall. When everyone seen them talking and laughing it broke everything. All of them thought since the two biggest enemies were talking it wouldn't be too bad. Next thing you know Gryffindor was talking to Slytherin. And Hufflepuff was talking to Ravenclaw. Everyone had a smile on their face. And Hermione and Draco have been friends ever since then.

"What's got you all sad 'Mione?" He asked still perched in his tree.

She smiled a small smile at the nickname and said, "Ron."

That's all he needed. He hopped down from the tree branch and put his arm around her shoulder.

"It's ok 'Mi. You've got me." He said with a small smile and she giggled. He couldn't stand to see her sad. He wouldn't tell her yet but he's liked her for awhile. Her soft hair, that now came down to her back. Her perfect smile, the way she cared about everyone and loved everyone dearly.

"That's true I do have you." She said and leaned into him. He pulled her closer into his side and leaned his head on hers.

"Mi, what would you do if someone else liked you." He asked. He was watching the giant squid play in the water and sun.

"I guess it would depend on the person, but I need a day to get over this mini heart break. Is it weird that it doesn't hurt so badly? I mean I like a guy for awhile start dating him for awhile then see him cheat on me, but it doesn't hurt like I thought it would." She said. He noticed her eyebrows were furrowed and she was staring at the lake.

"It's not weird. It just proves that he wasn't the one. You know the one for the soul so I've heard it called." He said. She looked up and he looked down.

"Thanks. That helps." She said with a smile. She reached up and kissed him on the cheek. "I have to go get my things. Then I'm going to get something to eat. It's a little after lunch so I have to go to the kitchens. Do you want to come?" She asked.

"Yeah, I'll come with you." He said and got up. He would wait for her, even if it took forever. For now he would just be her friend and let her get over the mini heart break. Right now she just needed a friend, nothing else, and that is what he'll be.

Until she was ready for more that is…
