Lily Luna Potter was a hopeless romantic. She dated Harrison Longbottom for 2 days, then she dated Teddy Lupin for over 3 months, afterwards going back to Harrison for a week. Finally, she came to Lysander Scamander. Handsome, brown-eyed, blonde-haired, shy-as-hell Lysander. Right when Lily saw him she knew she loved him. The question was, does he love her back?
Eventually, Lily and Lysander started dating, and fell head-over-heels in love with each other. One day, in February of their 7th year at Hogwarts, the couple taking a walk on the grounds. It was a snowy night, and they were all alone. "Lilyflower, I have a question." He'd said, in that perfect voice of his.
"Yes, dear?" Lily asked, in the cliché way she liked to act sometimes.
"Why do you love me?" He asked.
"Well, that's a silly question." She said in a firm, yet comical voice.
"Lily, I'm serious. Why do you love me?"
"Lysander Scamander, stop that right now! I love you for so many reasons it's uncountable." Lysander looked upset, like he didn't believe her.
"What are they, then?" he asked, rolling his eyes.
"You're a blonde, your obsession with snow is adorkable, you're my knight in shining armor, with the way you come to my rescue when I'm all alone, your geekiness is so so cute, the way you blink when you're nervous is cute, too, I love that sexy ass moment when you bite your lip, and so much more. I love you, Ly."
"Lily, does any of that really matter in a relationship?"
Lily's eyes widened. "Of course it does! All the little things matter, much more than you think." She was slightly hurt.
"Right. Sorry Lilyflower."
After a short, yet awkward silence, Lily said, "My turn. Why do you love me?"
"Well," started Lysander. "Your green eyes are enticing; I could stare into them all day. Your lips are soft; like a cloud." He said, looking at her. "You know I love your ginger hair. You're such a bold person, and you always say what's on your mind." Which was true; Lily never held back. "Your laugh is the only thing that can make me smile on a bad day. Most of all, I love how you love me."
Lily smiled and looked down, red-cheeked.
"Well?" Lysander asked.
"Well what?"
"My God, Lily."
"What?"
"Never mind." Lysander said shortly.
"Lys, come on." She replied, frowning slightly.
Lily wasn't sure what happened. All of a sudden, Lysander had not only kissed her, but playfully shoved her down in the snow. They rolled around in it for a bit, laughing, trying to cover each other in as much as possible. Lily put some in his shirt, he put some in her hair, and so on.
Eventually, Lily was stuck beneath him, and she smiled up at him, looking into his eyes. They were lying there for awhile, and finally, Lily said to Lysander, "Just stop looking at me and ask already!"
Lysander's eyes grew wide. "H-how do you know?"
"Lorcan and I are closer than you think." She said, winking. It was true, though. Lily was very close with Lysander's twin brother, Lorcan.
Lysander stood up, and Lily didn't move. Once he was up, he grabbed her hand and helped her up.
They stood there, looking at each other, for some time.
Finally, Lysander got up the courage to ask her. He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a small red box.
He got down on one knee.
"Lily Luna Potter, I love you so much. I can't imagine living the rest of my life without you. Will you marry me?
Lily sighed and looked at him, smiling, and kissed him like never before.
Finally, she said, "Lysander Xenophilius Scamander, I love you, too. Of course I'll marry you." And with that, she kissed him again.
"Oh, Lily!" Lysander said, and grabbed her hand, looked her in the eye, and gave her a look which only the two of them would ever understand. It was their look. They finished their walk in the snow stopping every now and then to kiss, or look into each other's eyes. Lily and Lysander were soul mates, and they knew it.
