Mildly Interested
Michel hummed to himself as he fixed up his bed. When he was done, he started whistling a charming tune. He felt like a harmonic bird on a beautiful morning, ready to spread his wings and fly up high into the sky while bathing in the sun's wondrous light.
"So wonderful! Such a glorious day!" Michel chirped, very pleased with today's morning. He pushed the window of his room open and breathed in the fresh air, feeling quite wonderful today.
"Hey!" A voice caterwauled from below.
Michel froze, looking downwards at the person the voice belonged to. It was none other than Josette. She was staring up at him wonderingly.
"Josette!" Michel chirped. "Fancy seeing you here on such a wonderful morning!"
"Fancy, indeed."
"Why don't you come on up?" Michel questioned hopefully, wanting the woman to join him.
Josette hesitated before nodding. Filled with harmonious glee and pure gladness, Michel removed himself from the window and then quickly left his apartment to greet Josette at the bottom.
Once there, Josette was still in her same position, hands in her coat pockets. When Michel laid eyes on her, he smiled brightly and held out his hand for her to take. Josette rolled her eyes before taking it, secretly enjoying the way her hand felt in his. It was nice.
After reaching their final destination, Michel led her into his apartment and he shut the door behind him. He was so joyous that he even took off her coat and hung it for her. "Welcome to my cozy abode! Make yourself at home!" He exclaimed.
Josette nodded her head, wending deeper into the small apartment. She moved her gaze everywhere before having it land on a comfy looking sofa. Smiling crookedly, the woman made her way over and took a seat, relaxing in the sofa's softness.
Michel had disappeared.
Josette looked around for him, but didn't see him. So, she shrugged and just continued to relax on Michel's extremely comfortable sofa.
Suddenly, Michel returned with a tray of cookies and some tea. He sat them down upon a glass table and then offered a cup to Josette. "Here you go! Some tea!"
Josette took it gratefully and the hot cup warmed her hands. "Thanks." She said.
"You're welcome!" Michel sat down next to the female and grabbed his own cup of tea, sipping on it delicately. Then, after a few sips, he took a cookie and plopped it into his mouth.
"Thanks for inviting me in," Josette yawped, quickly finishing her delicious tea. "I really didn't have anything else to do today. Now this is something."
"Oh, it's no trouble at all!" Michel responded with a shake of his head. "I enjoy your company immensely! Plus, it's always nice to have you around since I'm mildly interested in you!"
Josette was about to nod and agree, but she realized what he had said last. "Wait. What did you say?" She asked him, narrowing her eyes at the man.
Michel's face flushed and he pretended to be dumb. "What did I say?"
"Yeah! What the heck did you just say?" Josette questioned him, wanting some confirmation.
"I said…nothing." Michel fibbed.
"Fine, fine. Don't tell me…" Josette mumbled, grabbing a cookie and shoving it into her mouth.
Michel nervously continued to drink his tea.
She almost found out about his feelings for her! That was a close one!
