Kimihiro Watanuki was sweeping the courtyard of the little shop he worked at when a petite woman with long, extremely long, curly black hair and sparkling sapphire eyes walking through the front gate. She was in a lavender kimono with pale pink four pointed stars and indigo crescent moons decorating the delicate silk. "Excuse me?" Her voice was soft and husky, like rough velvet, "I'm looking for Yuuko-san."

"Right this way, ma'am." Watanuki motioned for the woman to follow him. She did so, geta clacking gently against the cobblestone yard. The doors opened as they approached, revealing a tall slender woman in a red butterfly kimono with pinks and lavenders that matched the curly haired visitor's.

"Welcome to my shop. What is your wish?" The crimson-eyed woman led the blue-eyed woman to a room with a low table situated in the center. Settling at the table, she gestured for her guest to do the same. "Watanuki, tea for our guest please," she said with a smile. "I am Ichihara Yuuko, the proprietor of this shop."

"My name is Inukazoku, wife and mate of Lord Inukazoku," the smaller female spoke in a low voice. "My wish is for Higurashi Kagome to be put through a series of tests not found on this plane of existence. She will be here shortly." She tucked her hands into her sleeves.

Watanuki walked over, placing the tea on the table. Kneeling by Yuuko, he looked at Kagome, noting the crescent moon high on her throat. "What kind of spirit is she?"

"Please forgive my employee; we don't get a lot of people like you here. She is a monsutāmeito. More accurately an yōkaimeito, am I correct?" Yuuko pointed at the mark on her neck.

"Yes. My mate is the yōkai lord of Asia and has been for the past seven hundred years." She laughed. "I myself, have been ruling by his side for the past five hundred years."

A tap came at the door at that moment. "Watanuki, escort our other guest in."
