Shino was looking into the eyes of a man without options. The Hokage looked grim, and completely devastated by the reports that littered his desk. The Akutski, because of their inability to collect Naruto, had instead gone head hunting. Unable to match Naruto and his friends, they had waited. Through a series of calculated decisions, they had hunted down and destroyed them one by one. It was down to Naruto and Shino, the last two S-rank shinobi the Leaf had to offer, and Pein was drawing close. Finally figuring that the leaf could offer no more resistance. And they were right, Naruto could not allow the death of anymore of his people, and so was going to meet them outside the city walls. Their was just one alternative that could bring this nightmare to an end.
"Hokage-Sama... We should Activate the Aburame Contingency. It is the only logical option." Naruto was staring at one particular report, eyes tearing up.
"That... It wouldn't work Shino, that would only buy us a few minutes, maybe a hour or two with the chakra you have." Shino shook his head and went into lecture mode.
"Not necessarily Hokage-Sama, where as it's true all of my chakra could only buy us three weeks, if we let her feed on your chakra, and perhaps the Kyuubi's, we could buy a few months." Naruto thought it over.
"Are you sure you want to pay that price Shino, it's a terrible burden. I won't order you to do it." Shino didn't even hesitate a moment.
"It is only logical. It must be done." Naruto looked at Shino and nodded, then he flooded the room with the Kyuubis chakra. Shino could feel it, his heart racing faster and faster as the queen devoured more and more chakra. Shino collapsed to the floor as it became harder and harder to breath, his blood pounded in his head. Finally the queen could take no more and exploded, taking Shino's heart with her. Death was almost immediate.

Shino's body exploded into a cloud of bugs before reforming with him standing right next to Naruto like it never happened. Naruto called in the Kyuubi's chakra. He looked at Shino and quietly asked the question that was burning in his mind. "Did it work?"
Shino replied with a slight triumph in his voice. "Affirmative Hokage-Sama, the Hive is up and running with 100% membership, and a few more that I had the unexpected pleasure to retrieve along the way. We overshot by quite a bit."
Naruto collapsed into his chair, tears of joy falling from his face. "That's the greatest news I have ever heard Shino. I suppose it's time to meet the enemy.
"Indeed Hokage-Sama, but we will not be facing them alone. To the gates?" Naruto nodded
"To the gates." A yellow flash blinded Shino for a moment. Not to be outdone, Shino disappeared in a cloud of bugs.

Shino stared at the blackboard in front of him. Quite confused by what his senses were telling him. He had been aiming for a few weeks before the Akutski had started their attacks. He missed it by roughly eight years. "Team Eight, Kiba Inuzuka, Hinata Hyuuga, Shino Aburame. Your Sensei will be Kurenei Yuhi." This was going to be a very, very, long mission.

Sorry, I had to get this out, it just wouldn't leave me alone while I was supposed to be writing NJOTSH! This will hopefully be the next story I write after NJOTSH! Just a little teaser to see what people think about it, maybe get a bit of a fan base going while I'm in basic and ait.
