He woke up, gasping for breath. Eleven scanned his surroundings, trying to orient himself. The familiar humming of the TARDIS and the blue glow of the room calmed him down slightly. As he looked around, the TARDIS seemed to shift back and forth between two versions, one from the past, and the one from now. Eleven knew that the only way this could happen was if there was some kind of interference, like the presence of another Doctor. He racked his brain trying to figure out which version the older TARDIS was. As he straightened his bow-tie and fixed his fez, it hit him. The lack of holes in the wall and the different control panel reminded him of the TARDIS when he was Ten. As this realization hit, Eleven found a pair of sand-colored converse and a blue sonic screwdriver. Attempting to silence his breathing and his footsteps, Eleven began walking around the TARDIS, wondering if two Doctors could exist in the same room without causing some sort of rift in time and space.
"Who are you?" asked one feisty red-head.
"I'm the Doctor's companion, and who might you be?" replied a clever brown-haired girl.
"Well so am I", the red-head retorted.
Eleven smiled to himself as he recognized the two voices bickering with each other. Donna Noble and Clara Oswald. Two of his companions. Scrambling to his feet, Eleven wondered how this could be possible. Two companions from two different Doctors? Surely that would be a paradox. As he began smashing buttons left and right, Eleven spotted a figure wearing black-rimmed glasses, an overcoat, and Converse. Ten. He was here. How?
"Who are you?" Ten asked, pointing his sonic screwdriver at Eleven.
"I'm… you…" Eleven responded, pulling out his sonic screwdriver and pointing it at Ten.
"Only one of you may go on. If the two of you survive, there will be a crack in time and space that will envelope everything that it comes in contact with. If either of you wants the Universe to go on, you must destroy the other", a deep voice over the invisible intercom instructed. Each Doctor stared at the other, questioning his vow of non-violence. Was it worth killing a version of yourself to save the universe? Both Doctors stood, contemplating violence when a hole opened up in the side of the TARDIS. Outside, there was nothing but complete darkness. The hole began sucking up items near it. After a coat, a shoe, and a stray screw were sucked in, Donna and Clara were sucked in too. Before either of them could cry for help, they disappeared into the void. Ten and Eleven stared at each other. Losing a companion infuriated them both, enough to drive them both to violence.
Ten and Eleven pointed their screwdrivers at each other and hoped for the best. Never before having intentionally caused violence, both Doctors were nervous, wondering if they were even capable of inflicting violence. Ten pressed the button on his screwdriver, as did Eleven. Orbs of blue and green flew toward each other, colliding between the two Doctors. The collision of blue and green caused a huge explosion, sending both Doctors flying out of the enlarging hole in the wall of the TARDIS.
Rose sat up quickly in bed, confused about her dream. The contents of the dream seemed to disappear as she tried to think about them. Something about a time-traveler fighting himself? None of it made sense. In an attempt to clear her mind, Rose went to take a walk outside.
"Have a fantastic day" an unknown voice said to her. As Rose turned around trying to find the speaker and thank him or her, the face that the voice belonged to disappeared. Completely bewildered, Rose went back to her apartment.
Maybe I'm going crazy, she thought to herself.
Or maybe it's the start of a lifetime journey…
