A/N: It has been a long time since I read Harry Potter. Harry and Luna might be OOC in this. This scene came to me while I was at school. Hope you enjoy. Comments and criticisms welcome.
Disclaimer: Harry Potter is belongs to J.K. Rowling. I own nothing… nothing I say!
"Crumple-Horned Snorkacks exist," Luna said, turning from the window she had been staring out of.
"…OK," Harry said hesitantly, waiting for her to elaborate.
She gave him a steady and turned back to the window.
Harry shifted in his seat, wondering how much longer Ron and Hermione would be "talking". He never knew what to say to Luna. He glanced out the window, catching a reflection of a serene smile Luna had on her face.
"They live around this area, I've seen glimpses of them before," she reported, her eyes still on the passing woodland.
"OK," was Harry's genius reply. He cleared his throat and shifted in his seat again.
A few minutes passed in silence. Harry folded his hands on his lap, idly pulling on his robe. Deciding conversation would be preferred to silence, he tried to think of something to say.
"So, what are you doing this summer?" he asked tentatively.
She turned to fully face him. For a few moments, she just stared.
"Why do you bother?" she asked. "I make most people uncomfortable so they ignore me. Why do you bother?"
He tried to answer through his shock, but couldn't seem to find his voice.
"My father and I are going to search for undiscovered magical creatures in the countryside, he wants me to try writing for The Quibbler," she abruptly said, her regular dazed expression back on her face.
As Harry sat in silence, Luna went on to talk about previous exploits with her father and The Quibbler.
A/N: Reviews are love. Comments, questions, criticisms. If anyone wants to they can expand on the scene, just let me know.
