"It's not like she was wearing his pants. It's not like she was wearing his pants. It's not like she was wearing his pants." It had become a mantra for Teddy. Ever since he had seen Victoire wearing Dominic Zabini's jacket.

Teddy had no idea how his sweet Victoire had begun to associate with that... that... Casanova. Dominic was a Slytherin while Victoire was a Ravenclaw. What could they possibly have in common?

Images flittered through his head, displaying in startling clarity what they might have in common. Images that involved lots of kissing and touching.

He shook his head. No, no. That just wasn't possible. For the last couple of years, Teddy had done everything to carefully woo his darling Victoire. He knew they were perfect together, and she didn't seem to mind his advances. Why would she suddenly take up with Dominic when Teddy was right there?

He looked at his feet as they swung back and forth, trying to focus on his homework but knowing it was a hopeless. 'Maybe she's gotten bored with you,' a little voice whispered in his mind. Teddy didn't want to believe it because they were childhood friends. He didn't want to believe she'd sacrifice their friendship by being callous with his heart. If she lost interest, he hoped she'd be forthright about it.

He hated the idea of her losing interest at all, but if that was the case, he wouldn't hold it against her. She was a beautiful, intelligent girl. Of course she'd have other boys chasing after her. He just hoped she would be honest about it and not continue to lead Teddy on. He didn't want her to pretend he had a chance with her.

"Hey, Teddy," Victoire's melodic voice drifted to him, waking him up from his increasingly pessimistic thoughts.

He looked up and was thankful she was no longer wearing that ugly jacket. "Victoire," he grudgingly answered.

She tilted her head in that cute way she always did. "Are you okay?"

He might not be a Gryffindor like his father or godfather was, but he decided he was going to borrow their famed bravery. He stood up and looked into her beautiful blue eyes, knowing that if she allowed him to, he could get lost in her gaze. "Are you interested in Dominic?"

She opened her eyes wide and the surprise in them seemed genuine. She started shaking her head, her lips tilted in a smile. "You really are a stupid, stupid boy."

He crossed his arms. "Just because I'm not a Ravenclaw, it doesn't mean I'm stupid."

"You are if you think I have any interest in Dominic. Why would I want him when you're right in front of me? You've been taking your sweet time, but all I want is for you to grab me and hold me forever. When will that happen?"

Teddy smiled at Victoire's soft-spoken words. "Right now." He grabbed his wand and with the right motion, said, "Orchideous." He picked up the flowers and gave them to her.

She blushed prettily as she lifted the bouquet up to her perfectly pert nose to inhaled the aroma.

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

"It's about time you asked. Of course I will, you stupid boy." She tilted her lips up, and they shared their first kiss. It definitely wouldn't be the last, though. Not if Teddy had anything to say about it.
