The First

The most loyal friend a child could have in any lifetime is the one who stands by your side till the end even after you stop believing. Who cried when you cried, laughed when you laughed, who never in any lifetime truly abandons you. They are the ones who are with you at the park as a child, at a board meeting as an adult, the one who sits next to you watching your grandkids play on a tire swing in old age. They are the ones who stood beside you knowing what would come. Though bullies, girlfriends, jobs, losses, through all life's twists and turns. They remain with you forever, no matter what you did wrong.

The ones who love you regardless even after you stop believing, they are the ones people can't see. The ones who, when adults believe you old enough, tell you they don't exist and force you to bury them in the past. You bury them not in the past, but in your heart. Years from that time when you think you are alone traveling down the beaten path, that friend is traveling right next to you waiting for you to belive again. No pill, or any amount of time can ever replace the amount of love that frist friend gave you... and I belive that in the end, in the last few beats of your heart that loves manifests for the last time allowing you to see the one you thought you lost soo long ago. So that you may walk through the gates of heaven. Just so you can spend the last few moments of your life just as it began so long ago... together, this time forever. These were the final thoughts of 96-year-old Calvin as he felt his heart slow and his Fuzzy Buddy say "Are you ready for another adventure, Calvin?"

Hobbes knew his fate from the moment he first laid eyes on Calvin. The years of laughter, tears, games, fights, and the years of friendship and love to come, yes, Hobbes knew hes fate. The fate of all imaginary friends. He knew what would happen the moment Calvin stopped believing, the thing that mattered most in the world, to either one of them, would be gone... their friendship. But to Hobbes that was ok, he would be by his side and love Calvin till the end of time.
