She lay quietly on the cold, hard floor. Painfully aware of her rapid heartbeat and shallow breathing. When she tried to deepen her breaths the painful pressure in her stomach and on her chest became all the more evident. All her muscles were tense and sore.

Tears rolled out of her eyes blurring her vision and leaving a salty taste as they rolled down her cheeks and lips. She tried to ignore the tension in her head and jaws.

Every once in a while the constant fear broke her down, driving her in a complete and utterly defenseless situation. Struggling with fear every day and still functioning like you're supposed to do takes its toll.

When such a breakdown occurs she retreats to the safeness of her room, not tolerating others. Everything and everyone is too much for her to handle.

The sudden opening of the door startled her, making her jump up slightly. At the sight of him she sighed and let herself slide back to the same spot on the floor again.

Without words his tall figure approached her and stood before her observing the scene.

The tears were streaming down her face again after that startle and his sudden presence.

He leaned down and his tattooed arms picked her up off the floor. Pressing her against him he walked towards the bed sitting down with her.

Completely surrendering to him she let her head rest on his chest, slowly soaking his shirt with tears.

He softly stroke through her (.. ) hair while she sobbed in his arms. He could see her bright (…) eyes were clouded from the tears. His long, slender fingers wiped them away from her eyes.

His presence comforted her, his calm demeanor, deep grey eyes and his affectionate touch.

She almost felt ashamed for showing her vulnerable state to him but as if he could read her mind he laid his finger on her lips. 'Shh'

Leaning over he kissed her forehead. 'Everything's alright, I'm here'

These words sent chills down her spine.

She wrapped her arms around him and embraced him tightly. She felt his hands caress her back softly and a smile appeared on her face.

He had a gift, if you may call it that. She could never feel anxious long when she was around him, and just the thought of him being there calmed her down.

Closing her eyes she breathed out deeply and murmured.

'Thank you'.

He withdrew from the hug and smilingly leaned towards her softly placing his lips on hers.

'Always' he replied.
